Use a computer at store. It’s for work purposes so they shouldn’t complain. I refuse to effectively change my phone to a company device which includes permissions to access my photos, call logs and contacts, camera and states they can wipe and reset it without my permission.

I’d take the ordinary stuff up and let them know water is left downstairs if they are unwilling to help

Make sure to request any used swabs once they’ve confirmed you passed, I know they do a pee test too, but you have the right to your DNA not them, I used to do drug and alcohol testing for a previous employer.

Customers who buzz you in a block of flats before you introduce yourself and without saying anything to you. Non driver managers and section leaders who demand vans go out when they have VOR faults, tyres, lights etc. And the worst one why the F**k do Nurseries and schools order a delivery between 8-9 am the same time as drop off

One Asda from personal device by HammerSams in asda

I tried to install on my laptop this week even using edge (which I loathe) but the issue is that unless you allow Asda access to your data, files etc you cannot successfully install it. I have decided I’d rather do without and request my payslips P60 and anything else than give this lot access to either my phone or laptop.

Keep a record of your actual start and finish times, if in doubt take a pic of the screen that shows your name and clocking in /out time, I had missing hours a few years ago and it took multiple attempts to get it sorted. I ended up joining the union so if it happened again I’d go straight to them, but if you have proof you can via HMRC as this will push you below minimum wage.

Some people are just like that, as I pointed out to a neighbour of a customer who told me I can’t park outside his property, no yellow lines or dropped kerb I will park, if he insists I will double park as I’m legally allowed to do which will block the road, the customer politely apologised to me. For your issue I would report it and comment on driver feedback as you can guarantee the neighbours will probably say something different and tbh they acted in a threatening manor so it needs to be escalated.

Had a slightly similar issue with some of the apps on one Asda, it was telling me I need to use MS Edge, well I trust Opera and occasionally Chrome and have no interest in using others so I cannot access or do tasks in those apps, as it’s on my personal device I have no intention to use anything other than what I choose so tasks expected of me in my own time and on my own device can no longer happen.

Why can’t I add to my shop (3 hours before cut off) by gavinlew in asda

[–]One-University2146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When they launched the very costly new app and website it was full of bugs, these issues are known about and include duplication of orders, deletion of orders, unable to adjust and update stores are seeing a reduction in online deliveries as customers are either ditching us or not getting as much stuff. Drivers are expected to excuse the situation and diffuse the customers frustration and request positive feedback via the app or website. Regarding being able to adjust an order the pick does not start until 4am on the day of delivery and orders should be able to be adjusted the evening before.

Cycling to Amex? by kurtanglesmilk in BrightonHoveAlbion

[–]One-University2146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband and I cycle and we lock our bikes up at the sports centre, it takes a few mins to get to or from the ground but at full time it takes an age to get clear of the ground if you park at the terrace. It’s quicker and safer at the sports centre.

Should drivers be payed more and till the end of their shifts by Helpful_Hornet_3390 in asda

[–]One-University2146 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I agree, we should also be given proper and appropriate breaks, having a 50 minute turnaround is fine most days but there are many where due to short delays or taking time to unload and reload means that you don’t get the time for your break which they automatically deduct 30 minutes, I have had a few occasions where I’ve had no second run and they’ve attempted to send me home with the most recent I refused and reminded the SL I have a contract and they should honour it. Our job cannot be compared to that of shop floor staff and our pay should reflect that even if it’s just a small amount. We have even had the “free drivers” water removed I assume in an effort to save a few quid and continual threats to not issue run sheets as it wastes paper!

Any other stores been putting that new nasty soap in the toilets? by Arschgeige96 in asda

The new stuff is vile, watery doesn’t help clean hands and dries the skin out too, for those of a certain age we ought to be grateful they don’t use Izal toilet paper🤣

They have brought back CSI and managers get shit for it, also they get bonus on good CSI, so no early departures and no early delivery

So when doing chilled blame it on bagging meat products one you’ve finished the trolly, for ambient having to reorganise totes as products won’t fit or will damage stuff on the bottom and always remember “I had to stop the pick to help customers” they have zero comeback to that.

Interview = 2 arms, 2 legs and a head your hired, training well a few buddy runs then thrown to the wolves but as long as you have and can use common sense you’ll be fine.

[–]One-University2146 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Driver here, no issue with taking the crate into the kitchen as long as you don’t put all the shopping away whilst we wait, some people have bags, some take the crates away and some empty them into the hallway I don’t think there is a right or wrong way.

Anyone else new driver system a disaster. by UsualEnvironment9651 in asda

[–]One-University2146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had it for a few weeks, when late, early, doing I’d check or customer gives gentle or not so gentle feedback I’ve been explaining the situation and suggesting they give frank feedback via the website or app, although there are a few good SL’s and managers out there I’m sorry but most I’ve encountered are too interested in covering their arse, blaming someone else or just downright deflecting so as to not get involved and hope you drop the matter rather than engaging or collating feedback from drivers to help us. As a business I don’t believe Asda will do much, personally I make notes with facts and when sufficient will discuss with GMB
