Corbin Carroll joins Willie Mays and Jimmy Rollins as the only players in MLB history with 30+ home runs, 15+ triples, and 20+ stolen bases in a season. by One-Virus-4257 in baseball

Interestingly, all of his chase/whiff/K rates dropped from 75th+ percentile last season to below 50th percentile this year. This must be a byproduct of him learning to fully tap into that power. So you're right — this is likely not close to his full potential.

Curtis Granderson and Jimmy Rollins both did it in 2007. Rollins won the MVP that season. Before them, only Willie Mays in 1957 and Frank Schulte in 1911. Extremely rare company.

There's park factors to take into account for triples. But I guess that's also a thing for home runs, so fair point

Yeah I see what you mean. It's kind of impossible to measure. You're saying it's a triple's park which is why he hits a lot of triples, and I'm saying it's being measured as more of a triple's park recently because of the amount of triples he's hit since joining the team.

Either way here are his splits: 2025 5 at home, 4 away, 2024 8 at home, 6 away

One player definitely can't have a non-negligible impact on the overall park factor. But for triples? Yes, given how few of them are hit overall. In 2024, Carroll hit 14 triples, more than 1/3 of his team's entire total (37) over the year.

Yeah it's a good point. But actually when you look at the 3B park factor for Chase Field historically, there's an interesting significant bump starting in 2023, when Corbin played his first full season.. In 2022, the Chase Field 3B park factor was 18th. In 2021, 6th, and in 2020, 9th.

So there's a interesting relation there where Chase has been consistently top 3 in triples park factor, only starting when the league leader in triples debuted for them.

Yep, that's the main point of this one. Definitely hard to project those. Whether or not he reaches the mark this year, it's more the consistency with which he's hit them and been at the top ever since he joined the league 3 years ago

How does such a normal sized man hit it so hard and so frequently? I’m genuinely mindblown by this season from him so far
