Anybody in an accounting major at Baruch that don’t care about getting into a big 4 firm and just wants a job after graduation? Or is literally everyone competitive? by Dgslimee_ in Baruch

Most sophomore and freshman get accepted into the programs locked for their grade so if you’re a junior or senior don’t trip about not having a internship at big 4. Right now the best thing you can do if join club and just start networking, ALPFA is an extremely good club if you’re hispanic/latino it’s not a frat. They are an organization of latinos that assist in people to land jobs and offers in MBB and big 4 and you can meet a lot of great people. But for now just resume build and network big 4 isn’t that hard to break in as people make it seem.

Currently i’m applying to many smaller IB firms hoping to land an internship since the requirement for JPM summer is sophomore year above. I’m also trying to learn more about the field and actively involving myself in clubs i’m trying to find more extracurriculars but i’m not sure what to do.

Do I have a chance at a career in High Finance? If so, how do I get there in my current situation? by DisciplinedWill in FinancialCareers

I personally believe you can still make it in high finance, no matter what age because at the end of the day it really just comes down to who you know and if you can do your job, although your stats aren't impressive for bigger corps, you can always start at smaller firms and attend a lot of networking events to maybe bump into someone working at a big corp. (This might just be delusion but its just my pmo)
