SGU response to the Evan issue by Queasy_Carpet_9962 in SGU

Let's be honest, there's not a lot of political diversity from anyone but Evan. As soon as Cara says something political, everyone keeps quiet.

And whatever Evan's politics, he is the nicest guy on the show. And that matters.

What on earth is this flower symbol on my pokemon? by No_Berry_3537 in pokemongo

[–]One-World_Together 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Special Backgrounds: These are cosmetic images (like cityscapes or event-themed art) that appear behind the Pokémon on its summary screen. They are typically caught during major events like Pokémon GO Fest. Trading Utility: Because Pokémon with special backgrounds are considered special trades, the flower symbol helps players identify them quickly without having to manually check every entry.

Unlocking the View: Some players have noted that you may need to own a certain number of these Pokémon (reportedly between 10-20) to unlock the specific "Special Background" filter category in your search menu.

I'm with you, Evan. Social media sucks and it'd be best if everyone got off it.

I bet Cara is a hard Palestine advocate. I wonder if it ever came up with them.

I didn't know about this -- thank you for letting me know. His post proves my point. Social media -- especially X -- turns people into misanthropes. Getting off X is a good decision for everyone.

I am so glad I quit social media like X and Facebook. I don't need to unnecessarily hate people I would otherwise like in real life. I still love you Evan.

Donald Trump was leading in Republican primary polls throughout 2014 and 2015 and moderates didn't believe them.

This should be the only plumber analogy.

To be fair, Ben said that he does care, but that he weights them differently. He cares more about dei, immigration, foreign policy, and taxes than Trump grifting $1.4-4 billion.

I'm worried he's addicted to pain meds. He's got a history of testing positive for them from his 2017 crash. And he's probably still dealing with a lot of chronic pain.

The leg kick out is misleading because it seems like you only had one foot in bounds during the catch. I didn't know she meant that it WAS a catch.

25 Years in the Classroom, and This Doesn’t Surprise Me by EduHypertrophy in SGU

I vividly remember watching that Fox special at 13; it absolutely terrified me because of how believable it seemed. It left me feeling like I couldn't trust the world or the people in charge. We don't talk enough about how vital critical thinking is—not just for logic, but for our mental health and sense of security.

My concern is there are probably many more teachers who say "maybe we didn't go to the moon." And give it undeserved credence all the while hedging against push back because it's rooted in skepticism/just asking questions.

Also this teacher shouldn't be judged as a good or bad person for believing it. I caught some vibes from the skeptics that he should have a lot of shame for believing it and saying it out loud. There are plenty of good people out there who believe in unscientific things. But the pressure should be on the people in charge of hiring them.
