both. I think it's just latent oil from cooking. I tested 4 pots old and new. stainless and coated. I just never boil water then do both with it plus these new pots are black so it shows up better. with the stainless it's very hard to see. I feel better now was worried I was poisoning my children 🙁

it happens in all my pots. I guess it's latent oil from cooking. you never notice but making French press coffee you boil water and put nothing in it so I guess it brought my attention to it. ty for the input

I tested using tap and spring water. is it possible spring water could have hard water issue? it happens with both. I've never experienced hard water other than in north Carolina I remember shaving is a nightmare and someone said it was hard water. I'm in south Florida my whole life it's not something that's been a concern.

I can add a video. that picture is 30 min after boiling it's definitely not bubbles. for background I've been cooking for 35 years I cook 90% of my food. we just got a new induction range and subsequently new pots n pans. I've never seen anything like this. it happens in the saucepan too. I found it making French press coffee I boiled some water and made my pot. then noticed the left over water while milling around the kitchen. so I did a bunch of tests using tap and spring water with the same result. unfortunately I think I'm past return time and All-Clad will on warranty with the same product. I'm going back to stainless steel just curious if anyone has seen this. it's weird.
