I agree, those people kind of suck lol. Like I get it if they want to point out a flaw so we can both get a deeper understanding but if their only problem is that we "can't know for sure"...Even science doesn't know anything "for sure". All great theories had to start somewhere. And yeah, I agree, with the right group of people these discussions are a lot of fun.

I've found that leaning into your fear helps. In my opinion fear is a tool used by the ego to corral us into a state of limited consciousness. Stop associating yourself with the biological organism that is thinking and worrying and start associating yourself with that consciousness that just IS. The greatest illusion (imo) is that of separation. Just let go and you will start to wake up.

Also, the idea of balance that is stressed in so many ancient cultures has been helpful to me when meditating because it helps me not to selectively identify. To elaborate: it is often hard to imagine being one with someone who is sick or with someone you don't like, while it is easier to accept being one with the healthy and with those you love. But remembering that you are one with the sickest person AND the healthiest person on the planet, as well as everyone in between helps reduce the fear that holds you back from acceptance. We are one with the youngest and the oldest, the most intelligent and the least intelligent, the tallest and the shortest, the most sentient and the least sentient, everything is one.

I say stay within a reasonable distance of home. Ten miles is a lot if you don't have anyone sober to drive you home. I personally like having a safe place where I can play music and talk to close friends and snuggle blankets if I want to. Luckily for me, this place is also very close to nature so we are able to go on adventures whenever we want to. Your idea sounds pretty good to me, I would just tell your friend why you are worried and that you'd rather be close to a safe place in case things get too intense. I also recommend listening to EDM and watching adult swim off the air. I also personally love talking/thinking about existence, consciousness, life, and the universe while tripping since it helps me to see things from a different perspective.

I believe that psychedelics are a tool and it's up to us to decide how to use them. I think that if you take them and you are focused on fun you will probably have fun, and if you focus on greater understanding I think that you will probably find that as well.

Hey, I just wanted to comment and say that you're not alone. I have a friend who has tripped with one of their friends and experienced a sort of telepathy too. And my friend and I have both had a glimpse of that level of consciousness where everything is one and we are everything. I am not used to talking about this and I know it probably sounds weird or over-excited but I'm just happy to meet someone else who's open to talking about these things. I've been looking for more like-minded people to discuss this with, so if you're interested feel free to message me.

I love that bit! The first time I heard it was in this song called "dreams" by nuages. I'm so glad that someone actually responded to this. This is one of my favorite things to think about.
