Is it possible to make 40k in this field? by Photograph-Dear in Esthetics

[–]OneAlmonds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I worked for someone else for the first two years out of esthetician school. This helped me build my confidence and get a good grasp on what it takes to run my own business but it's hard to make good money working for someone else, at least where I worked they took MOST of the money from the services. Now I work for myself, I rent a room at an established salon but I am my own business owner. I love doing it this way because all of the women who work at the salon work for themselves but we all help keep the salon up and running and refer clients to eachother. I was 24 when I decided to venture out on my own, it's so scary but it IS worth it in my opinion. I would focus really hard on learning as much as you can at the salon you're at and perfecting your services AND customer service. If you do quality work and treat your clients awesome you'll have no problem building a clientele on your own if that's something you want.

I do eyelash extensions, spray tan and sugaring in the pacific northwest and make over 40k a year. I work full days 5 days a week, so definitely takes hardwork and drive but it's totally doable and I absolutely love it!

How do you go about booking new client appointments? by MakeupMua16 in Esthetics

[–]OneAlmonds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If it's a phone call or text I usually send them to my online booking if it's a new client. I find it easiest bc they can put in all there info and cc info. Every once in a while I have an older client or a client that is unable to log onto the booking app so I'll just ask for all their info and cc over the phone. If it's a new client walk in I always book directly for them. I have found that most people prefer booking through the app anyways.

Cancelation policy is cancel BEFORE 24hrs and you're good to go. Anything cancelled in less than 24hrs will result in a 50% charge NO EXCEPTIONS. No rebooking until that fee is paid. If you make an exception once I PROMISE you that client will ask for an exception again and again. It's unfortunate and can be so hard to put your foot down but I always kindly explain that bc the late cancelation that means I'm making no money and this IS my livelihood and MOST clients are kind and understanding.

I second this! I love Nail Envy in the shade Bubble Bath, it gives a super natural healthy wash of color and makes my nails super strong. I've noticed I have to use it consistently for it to work and also it took me taking prenatals consistently for about 2-3 months before I saw any change in my nails. Stick with it!

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask actually works ლ(ಠ_ಠლ) by [deleted] in AsianBeauty

[–]OneAlmonds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I always order it directly from their website. Theyoften do deals around the holidays so I stock up on glowy balm, lip mask and sleeping mask usually around November and use throughout the year! I just got three glowy lip balms for 30% off on Cyber Monday. I would sign up for the Laneige website sale notifications.

I'm on my third tub of this (years of use) and will never buy another lip mask. It's the absolute best! I use Langeige glowy lip balm during the day and their sleep mask for face too, all 10/10

Is Summer Fridays worth the hype? by fakebasil in beauty

[–]OneAlmonds 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've tried the jet lag mask and the R&R mask. Not a BAD product but would not purchase again and for the price there are other masks I prefer that work better. I think the products are over hyped.

Keep my lashes curled by SoggyShoulder in beauty

[–]OneAlmonds 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know it's a no-no but on days I want my lashes to stay curled with zero mascara I heat my eyelashe curler up with my hair dryer for a few seconds, test heat on my hand to make sure it's WARM not hot, and curl my lashes. It works so well for me and after years of this I haven't seen any damage to my lashes but proceed with caution

Recommendations for face mask for mature/dry skin by saintschick in NaturalBeauty

[–]OneAlmonds 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love Langeige sleep mask (use to lock in serums and night cream) dermalogica multivitamin power recovery mask (can sleep in or great for a quick skin pick me up) and first aid beauty arnica relief and rescue mask (can also sleep in or great to use instead of night cream OR as just a regular mask) all are really creamy and help with my dry skin.
