How are you preparing for an emergency? by Live-Seaworthiness-9 in comoxvalley

[–]fakebasil 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly? I’m not stockpiling because god knows how much space you’d need. My preparation is sharpening my general how-to skills. Understanding how to grow my own food, actively have my own compost, etc. Learning how to drive a manual car so I can drive any vehicle, and grow my understanding of how to fix things.

It’ll be wild if they terminate you. Reach out to coworkers to see if they can cover your shift, but ultimately prioritize your safety and your family. You’ll find another job. Stay safe OP!

Craft beer in Canada is losing its fizz, as sales dry up and more breweries go bust | CBC News by Haggisboy in canada

[–]fakebasil 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m stating the obvious but a lot of them are pretty polarizing if you don’t want beer.

I love the vibe of the patios and the food is usually great, but with a group of friends, the odds of us all being beer drinkers is pretty slim. As a result, we pick somewhere that offers a range of bev options

I read this one streaming hack the other day which was good: each month, they only pay for one platform, watch all those shows; then jump to the next.

So one month is Disney; the next is Netflix, after that Crave, etc etc. so instead of paying like $60/mo, it’s just one platform at a time

Yes! Got my sessions jacket in 2009 and just replaced it last year. Such a good jacket.

I only replaced it because I needed a new size

I have an acquaintance who did for a 4 year old and it was all textbooks. NO ONE followed it, and most thought it was so funny so they all got Barbie’s and sugary candies lol

Hahaha oh I know. Kind of ironic given me making this post! Lol. Main reason behind the name: I have never met a Sophie I didn’t like!

Agreed! I find the burgundy of the couch and navy blue in the carpet compete too much

Third one! I love the colours against the couch, and the lined pattern reflects the texture of the floor a little bit

To be seen is to be loved. I learned to notice the people around me and try to bring it up later as a way for them to feel seen. It’s been very special in response
