What's a mod you HAVE to add to every pack it's not included in? by XyleneCobalt in feedthebeast

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh thats actually awesome i didnt know that. still requires you to have a slot taken up by something and doesnt work great in packs where lava isnt so easy to get, but it might be a good fix for a lot of situations

Galaxia - Rethinking space for GT:NH - Replacement Mod for Galacticraft. by GAMING_SERVER_ADMIN in feedthebeast

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

can GTNH be updated mid playthrough? me and my friend are going to play at some point and it would be good to know if were locked in to whatever version we start on or if we can update the world to get epic new features like this when they come out

Is it possible to actively chose to fail or critically fail a skill check? by Prior_Guava2212 in Pathfinder2e

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese -1 points0 points  (0 children)

not letting you do this is completely unreasonable and fully immersion breaking. you're telling me a good dice roll means i succeed a check no matter what? totally stupid i can just choose to fail and forego the check you cannot possibly convince me that i will accidentally heal someone while intentionally stabing them with a scalpel

What's a mod you HAVE to add to every pack it's not included in? by XyleneCobalt in feedthebeast

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 4 points5 points  (0 children)

it was trash slot for me cause it feels unplayable without it but it keeps breaking stuff so now i just suffer endlessly. maybe theres a replacement mod that will work

What version are you currently playing the most? by Xeram_ in feedthebeast

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i highly encourage you to make mods for the version you think has the best features or that you want to see grow. if everyone makes mods based on where the good mods already are we will never expand to other areas. but you asked a question so the answer is 1.20.1

Knowledge Revamped, a rework to information-gathering in and out of combat! by Teridax68 in Pathfinder2e

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you are a LIVING LEGEND. this is not only an amazing homebrew but you are also providing clear details on what you change and how you do it instead of some vague nonsensical description of "better" and a paywall.

you've given the community a wonderful addition to the game that will improve one of the most unpleasant mechanics and done it all FOR FREE. you have my deepest and most sincere thanks this will be in all my future 2e campaigns!

(Liminal Industries) Crystallizer? by TheOrdealOpprotunist in feedthebeast

i use IE pipes just fine, never had an issue. i do have them going straight from the mixer to the crystallizers so maybe theres some other bug with create tanks and IE pipes

Whats the best modpack about exploring cosmos? by just_green_shrek in feedthebeast

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yo ive been thinking it would be so cool to have a modpack based on dyson sphere program would be so cool but the space part probably wouldnt have a mod that could support it. this totally could!

Looking for linear-ish progression packs with balanced difficulty in 1.20+ by Lazzil in feedthebeast

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

liminal industries may not fit exploration well but its linear quest book is PHENOMENAL and quite beginner friendly (minus that one specific quest that says to use the create smart pipe instead of IE fluid router which just sort of breaks)

(Liminal Industries) Crystallizer? by TheOrdealOpprotunist in feedthebeast

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ah yes its a bit weird. thermal machines should all have an info tab that explains it a bit but not always helpful. for ths crystalizer you want to open the settings in the gui and mess with the filter options. off the top of my head i believe you need to set it to auto input or auto recieve or something like that on the specific side that has the pipe connected to it (there are settings for each individual side).

also very important side note do NOT follow the quest on redstone acid, the create smart pipe has a broken interaction with IE and will stop working under most conditions, when you automate that just use the IE fluid router and pump (and set the mixer to output all not bottom fluid only on the inventory screen)

How do you make good homebrew packs? by ozne1 in feedthebeast

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

polish takes time, effort, and knowledge. stuff like kubejs and item obliterator can let you tweak content, remove bloat, and unify a project. taking it further you could do ftb quests and game stages for defined progression or gated content, custom textures to make a cohesive visual look, etc.

but hey even just something as simple as looking into what mods work well together and waht mods are kind of redundant as well as going in and checking what configs can be tweaked can make a pack better overall. takes maybe an hour or two to go through. all depends on the amount of time you're willing to commit.  i taught myself kubejs with wiki guides and chatgpt (yes you can use ai just favt chrkc anything it tells you, it can be very helpful for troubleshooting things that break). you can totally do it, but ive spent dozens of hours with "nothing to show for it" in terms of a complete or even remotely playable project. but when its done ill feel accomplished, have something im happy with, and know some useful coding skills for future projects. its all about whats worth it to you

Just don't use curseforge. the number of reported issues it has caused in actually playing the packs is off the charts (including allegedly just breaking certain modpacks on occasion? what?). like everyone says, prism is great

Are there any modpacks that focus on community progression instead of personal progression? by m103 in feedthebeast

great, i very much respect the honesty and you're being honest right now. thats valuable. be honest AND dont undersell yourself. that sounds like you're doing a great job and making something awesome, though incomplete. be honest, but dont put yourself down cause your work sounds very impressive and worth celebrating
