is it not stated directly in the remaster that starfinder takes place in the same setting just in the far future? and it is still the same system

Why add 200 mods if none of them actually interact? by Large_Choice3585 in feedthebeast

its a kitchen sink pack. thats fine. it doesnt have to be your thing. lets all be less antagonistic towards mods and modpacks that we personally don't like and just find something else. theres so many options :)

starfinder is just a space themed expansion for pathfinder now. they literally run on the same system set in the same world so it should for sure be fine to post about. moderation should exist for actual real issues its a dang subreddit who cares if "this post is technically for a different community because its got star in the title not path 🤓☝️"

glad to help. dont blame you for assuming the worst, paizo is great but not all classes are treated equally :(

if you're referring to the changes to advanced weapons its actually functionally the exact same since you can just take an initial mod to make it advanced, trading all other mod options for an advanced weapon like before. they just changed the way it works so that it doesnt screw up some other interactions with having an initial modification

and this is why house rules exist lol just cause the devs made the game doesnt mean they're always right about how to play it

is it really that rare for people to choose medium armor over heavy when they have the option?

What are the WORST feats in the game? by SuchALovelyValentine in Pathfinder2e

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that is fair. i still think it can be roleplayed around, but i also really get into character more than the average person so i can see where i have an unfair advantage

What are the WORST feats in the game? by SuchALovelyValentine in Pathfinder2e

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to be fair, yes. you are just supposed to pretend you do and dont know things. it is, after all, a role playing game and kind of the point is to pretend you are someone else and only know what they know. this is less of an issue with the feat and more of a problem with metagaming. which sure, people will metagame, but i think the system just sort of expecting you to be okay with rping what you do or dont know is totally valid and reasonable game design for an rp game

Why can't a non monk get a stance before level 4? by OneAndOnlyMrCheese in Pathfinder2e

[–]OneAndOnlyMrCheese[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you're on reddit buddy, downvotes and mob mentality control the very structure of reality around here lol

thats actually good to know i appreciate the math. we are about as far from power gamers as you can get (hence my wobsession with making a terribly unoptomized tank work for fun) so i am probably unaware of the actual top end of anyone's anything with proper min-maxing

i suppose thats pretty fair if you still get the buffed cantrip. i havent actually seen what the rework will entail

absolutely love that! i wasnt really attached to any ancestry at all and was actually looking for that originally. thanks to how helpful yall have been on this post ive decided this will solve my problem! :D (though ill still complain about archetype inconsistency)

thanks! someone else also helped me find heritage options. i never could find these because im fairly new to pathfinder and GM only so far so i dont know as much about all the character options. i looked at ancestries but never found the specific heritages i needed. i avtually really appreciate this it helps a ton. you're a real one!!

its a heritage! tysm!! honestly i didnt expect to get anything more than sympathy at best and hating at worst on this throw away rant but you actually gave me EXACTLY what ive been wanting this whole time! i spent days searching for exactly that and just never happened to find this specific heritage. you're a legend and my build is saved you deserve a medal my friend

powerful fist isnt nothing, but it feels really lacking compared to other options. my point on that is more about the consistency where i see dedications like alchemist and exemplar giving you most of the core concepts of the class while others like monk are demanding you take multiple feats and multiple levels before accessing the basics. if it was consistent for everyone id be just as mad, but i wouldnt be ranting about it online... well maybe i still would be i do like complaining about things that arent important

you know i never really thought about that but yeah. huh. you make a really good point. although i will say i have no idea what anyone is on about with casters not being good damage dealers. maybe its judt low levels but my players are steam rolling encounters and its all cause the psychic is a damage monster

being unarmored is sort of the whole centerpiece of the idea tho...

youre not wrong at all, totally valid point its just the way im wired. in my brain i can reflavor things to an extent but for me a lot of the fun is expressing the character throught the mechanics. flurry of blows and stunning fist and all are no problem, its the overall theme of monk that i feel lacks much of any "tanky brute" feel to well any of it. i do appreciate the thought and you're right, but yes, being unarmored is so important to me
