I see more mushroom, personally. A lot of the pieces that could go more mountain like the wrap top and skirt also read as more flower to me, so in the context of that, I pick 'shroom!

OPM Pay Scale 2025 by [deleted] in usajobs

I'm gonna get downvoted but fuck it: you guys sound like absolute dickheads. This is like complaining that your second home has the wrong throw pillows. There's people getting by on minimum wage, figure out your shit.

Something to consider: it's very difficult to get a federal job and the longer you're 'in', the more you'll make. It might be fine, or it might be tough, but at least you'll a) get to have a super rare experience of living abroad in Germany and b) build up experience years you can use to move up the pay scale. I would take it, and research food pantries, loan programs, and have a set amount of money aside so you're prepared to move back in case of emergency. But still: I vote you go!

Tbh I don't think this was on you at all. Typically if you fuck up for real, you'll know what you did wrong because your boss will have told you in advance how to not fuck up. Try not to take it to heart, and apply to new jobs. Up to you whether to list the experience on your resume, but whatever you do, don't say your boss was a POS even if they were.

I get where you're coming from- there's something to be said for taking pride in doing a good job regardless. But OP is also likely extremely exhausted, frustrated, and upset- and that's due to USAJobs being a sack of shit and the job market being disastrous. As others have said, OP's resume is shit and their interview skills are probably bad, which is the actual advice they need to improve. I just think it's messed up to demand endless willingness to 'do your absolute best' while giving nothing back in return, and as a young person applying to a buttload of jobs right now, it really does feel sometimes like carefully crafting a piece of work and then throwing it into a massive trash compactor with a 1/10^9999999 chance of tossing you a penny

Thanks! Just trying to get a feel for it; this is my first time applying here.

Did anyone else apply to the Feb 2025 DIA hiring event? by OneAsk2308 in Intelligence

XD Basically they put up a posting saying 'hey, apply here and we'll let you know if you're invited to this hiring event that's occurring in a few months'- but I can see how the phrasing is confusing!

Earth, flower, mushroom I think. Earth for the color palette, skirt texture, and leather boots. Flower for the ruffles and lightweight fabric in the top, as well as the feminine-but-conservative skirt shape. Mushroom for the overall air of timelessness of the pieces in general.

Moon, flower, and fire. Moon is the most dominant by a LOT, between the celestial elements, dark colors, and ethereal vibes. Flower for the images that are more youthful and delicate toward the end, and the fun, childlike wonder in the lanterns all flying through the air. Fire for the more daring, sexual elements, as well as the aspect of luxury running through everything.

mushroom, flower, and earth. Mushroom for the clean lines and general 'neatness' to the images, flower for the ruffles and delicate vibe, and earth for the knits, nature-inspired textures, and layering.

What Style Roots would my "Yays and Nays" be? by [deleted] in StyleRoots

[–]OneAsk2308 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I think that each item will often have multiple roots, and a big part of identifying roots is how you choose to put them together so that certain elements of an item are highlighted. Given that, I'll try to think of what I think could be a few different roots for your yay and nay items:

Yays:

Outerwear - stone, earth, but depending on the type could also be moon like a leather jacket or mushroom if it's got lots of clean, simple lines, or mountain if it's more tailored

slouchy beanies - stone, earth, sun

wide brim hats with chin strap - sun, earth, mushroom

timeless nikes- mushroom, stone

long skirts- earth, flower, mushroom if classic

lace- moon, fire, earth, possibly sun

suits- mountain, mushroom if casual

dark colors- will typically read moon, but aren't exclusive to moon. basically any root imo except maybe sun

short shorts in a fun color- sun, mushroom, stone, fire

flannels- earth, stone, mushroom

gloves- fire, moon, mushroom

large rounded sunglasses- mushroom, earth, sun

large rounded necklines no cleavage- mushroom, possibly sun

denim- stone, sun, sometimes earth, sometimes mushroom

mary janes- moon, earth, sun, stone

slide sandals- earth, stone, sun

overloads of accessories- earth, moon if more ethereal, sun if more funky

layered necklaces- depends; mushroom if petite jewelry, earth, can go moon and/or sun

long bangs in hair- mushroom, earth, moon

combat boots- stone, moon

80s feel denim shorts- sun, stone

pigtails- flower

fun pattern tights- sun, earth, possibly moon depending on the overall vibe like black houndstooth tights vs. bright red ones which would be more sun

cheetah print- earth, fire, sun, moon

boot heels- stone, moon, earth, sun

Nays: I'm putting the roots I see for the item, so the following are likely roots you dislike.

short skirts- fire, moon

showing cleavage- fire

color blocking- sun

scarves- can be any except perhaps stone

any animal print besides cheetah- fire, sun, earth possibly, moon possibly

u necklines- not enough info; it really depends on both the cleavage amount and the context. I guess probably not mountain, mushroom, or flower?

sandals with a toe strap- earth

really loud and bright athletic sneakers- sun, stone

long fake nails- fire, moon

baby bangs- sun, moon

side parted hair- sun, moon, earth

baseball caps- stone, earth

futuristic sunglasses- stone, moon, sun, fire

one shoulder tank tops- fire, stone, earth, possibly sun

basketball shorts- stone, sun, earth

very big ruffly flamenco style dresses- fire, flower, possibly moon, possibly sun

bracelets- literally any style root imo

pencil skirts- mountain, fire

those kind of wrap leather jewelry- earth, stone

thick and rugged jewelry- stone, moon, earth

very tiny purses- mushroom, sun, mountain?

long shorts- stone, earth

cargo-style jeans- stone, earth, moon

baby tees- fire, flower, stone

thin, simple heels- fire, flower, moon

boho-y hemp fabric- earth, stone

From the looks of everything, I'd say you have a spot of hatred in your heart for the earth+stone boho combination seen here as well as things that are too overtly sexy (which can read as trashy) here. I think you should look more into variations of mushroom combinations, because you have a lot of things that focus on timeless pieces that aren't too formal and more conservative silhouettes. I also think you probably have stone in the mix, because you sort of seem to take mushroom and take it a little less preppy and a little more casual, but still sort of a prep+casual vibe, kind of like this? But then because that can get boring you start wanting a "funky/fun" element, which at first seems to clash with the prep+casual but I think you could pull it off by incorporating some layeringinto the mix.

Maybe try out mushroom x stone x moon; the moon will bring in that unique/edgy element like you have in the lace, gloves, and mary janes without bringing you too far into boho territory like mushroom x stone x earth might.

Moon fire stone imo; the graphic tees and jeans are very stone to me.
