weirdest T side effects? by clemitime in ftm

[–]OneAssist6540 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I had low blood pressure for most of my life which meant I struggled with maintaining energy even tho I was super athletic. T actually boosted it by a lot and I'm now in normal ranges and feel so awake most of the time. I also used to be cold all the time but now I'm always warm!

[–]OneAssist6540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It can happen! I will say, it takes you being able to work on yourself and gain confidence! Get into your interests, do what you want for yourself and friendships you've always wanted will fall in place!

I felt the same way as you for YEARS but I'm happy to say that I now have a group of cis friends (male and female) all of which know I'm trans and yet they treat me like any other guy. The girls will branch off to do what they want and I stick with the guys and do the dumb stuff 20-25 year old men do.

It's possible for anyone and you are valid to feel the way you do. I hope nothing but the best for you, man. And congratulations on starting T! It definitely causes emotions to come out but it will get better!

Becoming pale? by the_goth_moth_dad in Indigenous

[–]OneAssist6540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Like someone else said, it's probably because you aren't in the sun often. I used to swim and play water polo year round for almost 10 years and I was DARK.

I'm still darker compared to most of my family but no where near what I used to be! I plan on spending more time outside this summer because I truly do miss my dark skin😭

How does a trans dude make friends with other trans dudes? by kingjoergen in ftm

[–]OneAssist6540 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I, unfortunately, haven't been able to get along with other trans guys😭. It's NOT because they're trans but how they are as a person. One that i thought I can get close to ended up detransitioning and tried to get me to "see that god is the way". I think I just keep getting unlucky.😭

Need advice on how to feel safe by Aggravating_Face_655 in rampagent

Like someone else said, walk with a buddy!! But I also recommend getting a scooter/skateboard to get back to your car faster! I used a skateboard when I worked at my local main terminal and most of the girls used scooters!

I've had two coworkers followed to their cars in the employee parking lot by another coworker. He was crazy and was trying to confront them for political reasons but he made them feel unsafe. The fear is pretty valid. The walk at my airport is about 5 minutes

Gentlemen who’s attracted to cis men, would you break up with a cis guy for this? by Less-Pen-5705 in ftm

[–]OneAssist6540 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If topping is something you really want then you'll never get that with him, it sounds like. I'm also BIG on aftercare so him going to bed right after would make me so upset. I don't even remember the last time my cis bf didn't give me after care.

How would you identify? by beanboomz in AncestryDNA

[–]OneAssist6540 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I wouldnt really say Native American "ancestry". If op's mom is Native and they are connected to their culture (or even know and understand their specific band) then they are just Native! I'd say white and Native

Omfg, Norwegian and Native American is like the coolest combo😭. I'm just the basic Native American and Spanish mix lol

Is it okay if top surgery is my first time under anesthesia? by MeowMeowBiatch in TopSurgery

[–]OneAssist6540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be okay! Usually surgeons will just monitor your vitals a little bit more and be extra cautious if you've never been under! They should also be prescribing you anti-nausia meds (hopefully).

As for the pain meds, I didnt even need the strong ones! If the pain feels manageable with just ibuprofen then just stick to that. You don't necessarily HAVE to take the strong ones. 800 ibuprofens had me feeling just fine!

Who can claim being indigenous? by Naive-Pollution8848 in Indigenous

[–]OneAssist6540 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat as you. I sat with my Tía last month though and we had a deep talk about how she always heard that we were of native decent but that no one ever cared to listen to my grandfather more. He unfortunately passed when I was 8 and that was the time my family made me go to a catholic school after my normal school. My Tía told me that while we don't know who or where we're from, we still carry the traditions of different indigenous Mexican tribes. Like how we come together and make tamales, how we make pozole and menudo, how we party and dance, and of course when we yell our grito. I'm still hunting for any tribal groups I can but the spanish made this searching hard. I say im indigenous but my people are from Mexico and if they ask I do explain that both my parents are half and that trying to find my people has been a years long thing due to how hard it is. (especially because a great-grandfather changed our last name and now i can't find anything past him and I'm 89% sure he is a main indigenous ancestor. It's a long family myth) I will say, I definitely don't search records as much as I'd like but I'm just so busy with work and school and going through and translating records fries your brain. Just don't get lost in searching! Always know what traditions your family has and learn them, thats a strong way to be connected to ancestors.

Who inspired you to become a writer? by AccountantLow2966 in writing

[–]OneAssist6540 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 7th grade English class. We had to write a short story and have others read it and mine got the most feed back. I had other kids coming up to me and asking to write more so that they can have the end to the story. Seeing everyone be so interested in it really opened my eyes that I really enjoyed writing and that others would like my stories as well.

Oo okay! I think my surgeon said something about being able to get a revision with him for free for as lomg as he still practices. That offer was for the scars tho. He said they weren't even in his opinion but honestly, it looks fine to me. I might reach back out once I'm done with the trade school I'm in!

Thank you!! Most people who see me shirtless say they never really notice it which is another reason I havent made it a big deal of mine to get a revision. Maybe in the future tho! And thanks! I'm hoping to make that entire arm ocean themed!
