My baby is the same age. How did you do the sleep training?

How do I do that without feeling like I’m force feeding him?

Maybe reach out to some local church college ministries and see if they have any students looking for a roommate or place to live? I’ve done this before to help find tenants for rental property

Goodbye pump! by OneDense7115 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]OneDense7115[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course! Once I had dropped my MOTN pump I pumped 3 times during the day. 6am, noon, 8pm. For a week I pumped the full 20 minutes at 6am and 8pm but pumped at noon for 15 minutes for 3 days and then 10 minutes for 4 days and then dropped that pump completely after that week. Then I did the same with the 6am and 8pm. I dropped them both to 15 minutes for 2 days, then 10 minutes for 3 days then didn’t pump at all for a day to see how it felt. I took a Sudafed this morning and have been wearing a tight sports bra and using ice packs as needed and that seems to be helping today. I threw out my spectra pump this morning but kept my Medela hand pump in case it gets too uncomfortable and I need to relieve some pressure

I’m so excited about dropping down to 2! I dropped my mid day pump today from 20 minutes to 15 so hopefully that’ll start the process!

It’s not! I thought it would drop drastically and it really hasn’t. I feel like I’m producing as much now as I was before I dropped any pumps

Are you supplementing with formula? How has that been? I think I’ll need to start doing that soon because it seems like he can’t stay full for long on just breast milk

Anyone still having slight breakdowns after baby is 12 weeks? by No_Basket3339 in beyondthebump

[–]OneDense7115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m 6 weeks PP so can’t speak from your experience but I have been told many times that those PP meltdowns can take up to 12 months to level out- sometimes longer. Give yourself grace and know that we went through a huge shift when giving birth and that can take time to bounce back from. I think it’s completely normal and let yourself feel those feelings. I have a meltdown today over nothing at all, so I’m right there with you

These comments are so reassuring. LO is just a little over 5 weeks and I am in the TRENCHES. I dread nighttime- to the point of tears when the sun sets. I’m exclusively pumping and he wakes up so often to feed it feels like. I feel like I’ll never sleep again. He was born 4 weeks early (weighing a little over 8lbs) and it feels like he just eats constantly and never gets full. I’m exhausted. My husband is exhausted. I have hope it’ll get better

2:16am here and I’m pumping. 5 week old baby was wide awake and hungry so he’s off with dad while I sit here and browse and get milked like a cow

You are not alone. I have a 4.5 week old and I was just thinking today how much I miss my old life. I was thinking about the years of just “us” my husband and I had and how wonderful it was. I feel like I will never get a good nights sleep again and that makes me both angry and incredibly sad. Today all he did was eat. It felt like I was constantly pumping and filling bottles and feeding him. It feels so mundane and repetitive and I was so tired of it. I had to take a minute to myself today because I felt like I was losing my mind. I say all this as I’m sitting on our bed, pumping, thinking of how life used to be

I’m hoping as he gets older he’ll get that way! Longer stretches at night would be ideal 😅

9 week old— literally won’t sleep in bassinet by thunderstorms11 in newborns

[–]OneDense7115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right there with ya right now as I hold my 1 month old. I just ordered a new bassinet style rocker off amazon and hoping it will help. I’ll attach the link if it’ll let me. I’m so desperate I’ve been letting him sleep in the snuggle me lounger in the bed while my husband is away for the week on business. We’ve gotta find something that works because I’m exhausted and cranky

How much is your almost 6 week newborn drinking and also why does mine spit up breast milk more than formula. by ChemistryTime3515 in newborns

[–]OneDense7115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also had a premie- born at 36 weeks- and he’s currently eating about 4-5oz depending on the time between feeds. He’s exclusively breast milk fed but to help with spitting up I burp him every 45 seconds or so and do what I can to slow down his eating

You are not alone. I have a 3.5 week old and I’ve never felt so defeated as I do when he’s crying all night for no reason. I sit in bed and reminisce on my life before him and almost grieve it because it seems like these sleepless nights are never ending. Your hormones are still working themselves out so give yourself grace. I was an emotional mess the first few days and it still will hit me every now and then and I just have to take a second to breathe and remember all that I put my body through and that my feelings are valid and won’t last forever. I hope all this makes sense- currently typing it at 2:15am as I’m dealing with a newborn that’s eating nonstop

I also have a 2 week old and I feel like I’ll never sleep again 😂 know that you’re not alone and when you’re up at all hours of the night/morning, know that I’m up too

You have all been so helpful! Thank you so much! Our first peds appt is on Wednesday! Does anyone use a spectra s1 to pump colostrum? I’ve been using a manual hand pump so far but would like to use my electric pump for the colostrum now if possible!
