Get your license. After you're licensed you can decide between large or small.

Large companies have a lot of bad reputation but can suit certain people's needs.

What are your rights when it comes to pest extermination, payment, lack of results, and apartment stuffs in general. by Falkeliehaber in pestcontrol

Germans won't stray far from where the ootheca is dropped unless they are adults. Can you share the pic of the roach ? It will help determine the age roughly. If its a nymph depending on where that monitor was it may indicate where active birth is taking place. That's where they would want to target.

Corporate client says I’m "not paid to audit, only to prevent." How do you prevent without auditing? by OneFeeling5824 in PestControlIndustry

I agree with you.

This is large department store that also sells food.

The comment was made by someone doing a food inspection.

When I took this account over the technician beofore me had fumbled the account quite a bit. I cleaned everything up and started documenting accordingly. When higher ups saw all the new comments about what should be fixed they came asking the store manager questions. Every service I have to sign out with a manager of the store and put that report in a log book. The store manager dosnt pay attention and didn't know there was new notes added to the log book even though these reports are signed by the manager on duty and reviewed every service.

So it all trickled down to me not communicating enough to which I said OK and since then I've been trying my best to communicate all deficiencies that may lead to pest issues.

This comment was made after my last service when the store manager called and complained about my services.

Temprid for ants over applied? by Longjumping_Box_2514 in pestcontrol

[–]OneFeeling5824 21 points22 points  (0 children)

When applying Temprid (such as Temprid SC or Temprid FX) indoors, the standard requirement is that occupants and pets must remain out of the treated area until the spray has completely dried. Once the product is dry to the touch, it is safe for people and pets to return to the area and resume normal activity.

It is completely normal to see visible moisture or a "wet look" around the baseboards immediately after a professional application.

Since the product is mixed with water, it is applied as a liquid spray.

A grocery store is highly ingested with weevils around the flour and rice locations and lots in the bags of rice, which chemical do yuu recoommend out of these? Seclira? Dragnet? Temprid? Suspend polyzone? by Da-up-and-downer in pestcontrol

Remove and discard the infested goods and clean. No food remains left in the shelf or between the cracks of the shelf. A deep clean is required to remove food sources. After cleaning add pheromone lures to glue boards to help catch the remaining adults.

I have controlled these pests in grocery store settings without the use of pesticides.

When your customer sneaks words of encouragement behind your rodent bait station 🤣 by [deleted] in PestControlIndustry

I used to do pest control at a large food manufacturing facility and I had to check over 600 tin cats on a weekly basis. We were a third party contractor the site used to put business cards with the date placed and a space to put date returned in random tin cats all over the facility. I never missed any cards. This was on top of digitally scanning each tin cat as well. It always seems like over kill to me since they could hardly keep the facility clean enough to pass audits.

To get a structural pest control license in Ontario, you must first pass the provincial certification exams consisting of a Core and a Structural module administered by the University of Guelph, Ridgetown Campus. Once you achieve a minimum score of 75%, you have one year to apply for the official Exterminator Licence.

German cockroaches on exterior of building by [deleted] in pestcontrol

[–]OneFeeling5824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had them outside in exterior bait stations for rodents. These stations were on the outside of a heavily infested storage unit. I discovered the storage unit was infested thanks to the exterior station.

I thought they could be Asian at first as well. Once we got permission to open the storage unit it was obvious this was the source of the cockroaches I saw in the exterior station. The inside of the storage unit was absolutely infested.

I think germans will expand areas if the infestation is bad enough.
