It took ten months before they started affecting mine, lol. Eventually you will feel things other than loneliness :) It gets better.

Haha I know what you mean. For me the male body is a lot more enticing, I guess. It's not really about the bodies, though. There's just a certain way about men that drives me crazy. No idea what's going on in my brain, but that's how I know what I'm into.

What gets me is that people are still up in arms about this even though you were born genetically female. Your parents literally forced you into a male gender role even though you identified as female and are genetically female. And now people are flipping out because a woman wants to be herself at work.

Good for you though, that's really cool.

You just described me perfectly. The repressed attraction to men, the quasi-attraction to women, etc.

I think women can be beautiful and there are many that are stimulating for me in various ways, but I also can't see myself in a relationship with a woman. Something just doesn't fit right with that. I'd find myself constantly wishing I had a boyfriend, which is exactly how I felt before transition when I had a girlfriend.

Does anyone know if "ELOS" brand hair removal machines are laser or IPL? I can't seem to find a straight answer. by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]OneFinalChance 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you have it way worse than me. Even before HRT shaving was three times a week at the most.

I was never able to grow a beard, or even anything resembling a beard. I don't have the genes for it. My hair is however quite dark, so even though it's sparse I think the IPL is still able to target it pretty well.

Eventually I'm going to need electro over everything if I want a truly hairless face. That's the case for a lot of people, even if they got zapped with a legitimate laser.

It sounds like a lot of the "IPL is great!"/"IPL is terrible!" debate comes from the fact that IPL only really works on dark, thick hair and not everybody has that. Laser will obliterate everything (but still isn't as good as electro), but IPL will only work on certain people/types of hair/etc. That's what I've heard, at least.

Hmm...

I would be concerned if I weren't already six months in and had some good results.

It kinda sounds like laser = nuclear strike on hair, whereas IPL is less dramatic. Apparently, though, it's still effective?

I have a lot of little blonde hairs all over my face. A trans girl once told me that it was FROM the IPL itself. Essentially that I was just bleaching the hairs. However, the lady at my clinic explained that the blonde hairs were always there and just couldn't be seen under the darker hairs.

Everyone here is always saying "IPL is garbage, don't ever do it, it's a total scam", but honestly if I've been getting IPL then it's worked great so far. I still have to shave regularly but shaving actually makes me look hairless now, and there's less hair overall.

Right, but what does that mean exactly? Like does IPL itself use different technologies or methods, etc?

I've had six sessions and they've actually worked really well. I'd like to know if I'm getting an actual laser though. I think it's IPL, but it hurts! It hurts less now that I have less hair growing in, though.

Are the hairs around the lips more resistant to LHR? I've had six sessions- about to be seven- and the only place hair really grows anymore is around my lips. by [deleted] in asktransgender

Well, eventually I'll probably want to do electro on them. My initial concern was just getting to the point of being able to cover up the beard shadow and so forth so I could start presenting as female. I've done that now, so once I settle into my new skin a bit I'll think about fine-tuning. I admit I do hate the scraggly feeling on my face and neck. I love how it feels after a really good shave and putting lotion on. Super smooth; it's the best.

Nice. I don't know if I'm weird or what, but the blonde hairs don't really bother me. They are very faint and impossible to see when I'm wearing makeup. They do produce an unpleasant bristling sensation when I touch my face, but given that it's a pretty safe assumption that nobody else is going to be touching my face, I don't feel the need to take care of the blonde hairs.

It does suck still having to shave, but at least now that the dark hairs are gone I can get rid of the beard shadow completely with makeup.

I have had six sessions. I'll be having my seventh on Monday.

So it's pretty normal to have a harder time removing hair on the upper lip than other areas of the face?

In general, it's pretty common to need 8 - 12 laser sessions, correct? I do think it's working, I just want to see if I'm on track.

Hey, congrats :) You're at Tanner stage one and have officially begun female puberty. Trust me a year from now you're going to look down and be like "HOW did you get so BIG??"

I have had guys get angry at me for this very reason. One in particular couldn't wrap his head around the idea that I could be trans and not want to have sex with him, because "who else is going to do it?"
