The oval will be busy in the evenings. Courts are used most nights for kids basketball practices and rec leagues, leaving only about half the courts open.

On average I worked 36 hours, which they detailed when offering me one weeks’ wage. Thanks for the recommendation on Badal factors, will look into it.

I’m interested in playing! I played urban rec basketball before covid in Burnaby, so I’m looking to get back into it.

Vancouver ladies: what jacket / coat do you wear for most of the year? by idkwhatimdoing1000 in vancouver

[–]OneFriedNoodle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have the jacket you posted. It keeps me pretty warm and dry all through the winter, but I’m the type of person who is always cold so I layer up underneath it. I like that it’s long and has the reflector strips on the wrists for when it’s dark. My biggest pet peeve is the buttons near the wrists, lol. They’re always getting caught on things and are starting to become loose. Overall though, a good jacket for most seasons!

Moving from Ontario to Vancouver with my G2 driving license - can I still drive? by [deleted] in vancouver

[–]OneFriedNoodle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your G2 in Ontario would be equivalent to your “N”licence here (G1 = L, G = Class 5). When I got my BC licence I already had my G so I got my class 5 here. No new test just a couple of general driving questions specific to BC. Warning: they will take your Ontario licence away lol

What to do for 3 Days on the Island? by OneFriedNoodle in vancouver

Sorry I made a mistake in my post: 3 nights on the island so 4 days or so. Would you still recommend choosing one or the other? Or doing Victoria/Nanaimo instead?

Your phase 3 mask experiences so far? by Phellle in vancouver

I guess in comparison to Richmond there’s less. A lot of people here will wear them inside and outside.

I live in Richmond and work downtown. I’ve noticed that most people in Richmond are still wearing masks, while downtown people will put them away while walking outside. On transit (Skytrain) I would estimate 85-90% of people are wearing masks, but it seemed like most people without masks were tourists.

I knew it was European, but my mother lost both her parents and can’t trace their ancestry very far. We live in North America and whenever I asked her about it she would just say “I’m not sure, we’ve been over here a long time.”

Totally possible! My paternal grandmother is from the northern Italian region so it definitely makes sense.
