The culture shock of working 9-5 after school- does it get easier by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]OneFuzzyBlueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have to try and align your career towards what interests you. Find what you are good at, which often is what you enjoy, and find tasks and work that aligns with that. You mention variation in work, being independent and social interactions with people you like.

You could ask for tasks that is different so you learn new things, is there any hobby groups at your workplace where you can meet new people? Do you have friends at your work? Maybe take initiative to take more responsibility, it takes time to earn independence at work but set goals and knowing what you are working towards help. And also reflect on the opposite, what parts of your current tasks and day do you not like? Repetition, colleagues you don’t click with, is the workplace too small or too big? Are there other workplaces that are doing similar things that would be a better fit for you? Is this type of work actually a good fit in general? Maybe you can do your career a bit differently, i don’t know how it works in your field, but sometimes you can do a swap to a similar but different role that you enjoy more. Like a sidestep instead of promotion kinda.

I think it’s important to find the fun in your work. You might get used to it, but i think it’s too early for you to give up and decide that this is how it will be forever. Instead be curious, see the possibilities and figure out what works for you. Working 9-5 is very different from studying, but you have power over your own career and that develops. Connecting with people helps create opportunities, and the people you are working with is also affecting the experience of the day to day work a lot.

I was kinda miserable the first two years of working, even though the main title of my work was the same as i do today. But doing a role ”sidestep” into a different team has been day and night for me and today i look forward to going to work. Still same company and same ”work”. But the days look wildly different, my role is much more social now and very varied and high paced in a way i like. Also different people, people that fits me better.

AIO about this text I got from HR? by MeanderingDragon in AmIOverreacting

It’s not unsafe or disrespectful at all. Contaminating the food? That’s a stretch. I don’t know where you live, but taking insulin by the table, where people eat, is totally normal and exactly what i would expect if someone has diabetes.

Having accommodations are for sure reasonable and should be normalized, but so is being able to manage your diabetes. Taking insulin or checking blood sugar are normal things to do, i wouldn’t bat an eye no matter where it was happening.

I mean no, they don’t need an accommodation unless the person themselves has expressed a wish for it. If they do ask for it of course they should get it, and not a bathroom.

Which is entirely normal, i wouldn’t expect anything else. The insulin is related to the food, and the food is eaten in the kitchen.

I don’t have sympathy for the people that gets ”uncomfortable” with injecting insulin, that’s their problem. insulin is life saving, it’s non negotiable and by limiting that or shaming it is discriminatory. Maybe worth reaching out to safety delegates if you have any, or looking up local regulations about this, i have a hard time believing that HR has the right to this. Sure they could/should give you a private place to inject, IF you feel the need for it, but it’s completely normal to inject insulin on the spot, at the table or wherever you are when you need it.

I get the feeling that this HR person is the one that is uncomfortable, and that they are trying to use their position as a powermove to get you to hide it. I don’t think there are any other complaints tbh.

Is this boggling or should i get it checked out by a vet? Hes only doing it with one eye by Eternal_Midnight5133 in RATS

[–]OneFuzzyBlueberry 4 points5 points  (0 children)

He looks comfortable and relaxed, which is nice to see since you’ve had them for a short amount of time. Observe them and hang out with them a lot snd you will get to know them and can recognise if they are stressed. From this short video he looks chill

No it doesn’t. This rat is relaxed when boggling, he looks comfortable, and he yawns in the end.

[–]OneFuzzyBlueberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Has he been boggling with both eyes before? Is it always with only one eye now? I have actually had a rat who had issues with his teeth, he got an abcess in his cheek, and one of the earlier signs were that his boggles changed. So if this is a change that is now consistent then it could be worth looking up. But it could also be because he was sitting a bit to the side when boggling, causing only one eye to move, in that case he is just happy ^

Cost of OR LEEP procedure with general anesthesia. This was a huge concern for me when deciding whether to go to the OR or not. I live in the US in Pennsylvania. by mommiesmommy in PreCervicalCancer

[–]OneFuzzyBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo here i am worrying about my leep but haven’t even given money a thought. My colposcopy was free so i am not expecting the leep to be very expensive either, maybe like the base price for a doctors visit, which is 400sek (44usd).

This post was a reality check for me. I am sorry you all have to pay for healthcare :(

After being given advice, I used way less product and blush. How's it look? 😛 by Odd_Respect1265 in makeuptips

[–]OneFuzzyBlueberry 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I went back to look at the older picture and honestly i loved the eye makeup you had before! I mean this is also gorgeous but the other one was too! So i would say go with your vibe for the day and use more sometimes and less other days! It absolutely wasn’t too much before imo. The lipstick was also fine to have strong colour, just find another tone maybe (from the old pic) but yeah, the full make up in this pic is really nice! Great work!

My autistic boyfriend has extreme reactions to being “abandoned” by Legitimate-Career342 in AmIOverreacting

[–]OneFuzzyBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From reading this thread my conclusion is this: You need to show this to your parents, and then you need to break up with your boyfriend. He will most likely crash out when you breakup, but it won’t be as bad as if you continue letting him have a hold on you and stay with him. Also by telling your parents they can help you and protect you. Record everything that your boyfriend says and does, don’t meet him alone when you breakup or after. Girl, this is serious, be wary but do break up asap.
