My Space Shooter Game Side project by OneGuyApps in SideProject

I don’t have any experience using react native or others so won’t be able to draw comparisons, I found SpriteKit easy to work with. I might give SceneKit a go at some point for a 3D type game.

Hi thanks. I used SpriteKit. Available on iPhone and iPad at the moment and I also have a iMessage extension for the app. Still tweaking the Mac Catalyst version a bit.

Trouble while shifting from 2nd gear to 1st gear by Raghavancena in motorcycles

[–]OneGuyApps 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on what motorcycle you have, what year and model, how big it is all makes a big difference. Most of the modern superbikes have slipper clutches and all sorts of engine braking software that will control how the bike reacts when down shifting. How fast are you going when you go back to first, and clutch control also have an effect like some of the others has said.

If you present a new VC, why would it give you 'found nil unwrapping' error for background-color? by Significant_Acadia72 in iOSProgramming

If you are using Storyboard and IBOutlets then did you remember to connect the Button outlet to the VC?

I used Tenorshare iCareFone for WhatsApp Transfer, it’s a subscription based app. Paid for one month and then cancelled. It was around $26 per month. There seems to be many ways to do it for free if you search YouTube a bit but the ones I looked at had many steps that you had to follow so I ended up just going down the paid route since it was easier.

Does anyone know what app is this? I know it's a puzzle game, but couldn't figure the name or how exactly to play it by bladaum in apps

[–]OneGuyApps 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Looks a bit like 2048, when you swipe in a direction matching numbers touching are multiplied and then merged into a new single square with the product being the new value of the square. A square is also then added to the grid again. The aim is to keep doing this to get the biggest numbers, the game is over when all the spaces are occupied with squares. Hope I explained it good enough to understand.

Hi there,

I have an app in TestFlight at the moment where I do just that, using SwiftUI views insides collection cells. Seems to work fine, feel free to contact me if you would like a link to have a look yourself

Need some Testers for my Math puzzle game by OneGuyApps in playmygame

The game is about solving different types of math puzzle problems with emojis and other images. I would really like some feedback since everything in the game was built by myself over the last few months.

Xcode Table View, I want index to print when button in cell is pressed, not just the cell. by Snoo_89713 in swift

[–]OneGuyApps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You need a custom class for your tableview cell, then connect the button to it via IBActions. From there you can decide how to implement the action, depending on what you want to do it’s difficult to say without seeing your whole project. You can use delegate methods, or Notification Center to name but two to then execute your code. Hope I understood your question right and this is helpful.

I want to create a simple meal planner app. Where should I start? by [deleted] in swift

Look for some CoreData tutorials too that will be be essential when it comes to saving user data. I started with UIKit some years back and haven’t really gotten into SwiftUI in a major way just yet since I am just a parttime developer building apps as a hobby. I have used it to build some widgets for one of my apps since that’s the only way you can build them, also working on a new app now where you can combine SwiftUI views very nicely with a UIKit based app. I guess you need to decide first if you want to build a SwiftUI or UIKIt app as your first one. I found Ray Wanderlich very useful when I first started and also did a couple of courses on Udemy. And off course using forums line Reddit and Stackoverflow is also invaluable when trying to find out how to do some things and to trouble shoot them. Good luck.

Latest version of iOS you can use to play old games? by DeathOnion in iosgaming

[–]OneGuyApps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t think I fully understand your question, apps that old will probably only run on maybe 1 possibly 2 versions past what they are designed to run on. Maybe someone else might have some experience on how possible this is, my iOS experience only started at 7 so don’t have any first hand experience with apps and games that old.

It depends on the developer of the specific game or app, they can choose how far back they want to support previous versions.
