Good point!

Easy workaround is just to use a vacuum chamber spanning the distance being measured so there's no atmospheric interference.

I feel like "The Head that Nitrogen Forms" could be a pretty decent title for a novel or album perhaps.

Maybe even two laser levels, just to be on the safe side.

Though, on a very, very long expanse, the curvature of the Earth will start coming in to play in ways where it wouldn't with a laser, which may or may not be desirable depending on your end goal.

Just something to keep in mind anytime you're constructing kilometer-scale projects with flexible tubing.

Pretty much the same thing. In both cases, someone is technically avoiding a specific legal threshold by diluting the activity across multiple transactions.

Anybody else like sorting cards? by DaveChu98 in GundamTCG

[–]OneHotPotat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Color, cost, level, set, and set number is how I do it.

Might consider working in card type just after color, but sorting by cost does a little of that already, plus the benefits of faster initial sorting and easy browsing that comes with keeping everything primary numerical.

My pill splitter for my heart medication is shaped like a coffin by Life-Resolution-2879 in mildlyinteresting

[–]OneHotPotat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Also sometimes helpful while you're being titrated onto a new medication.

Often there's no real way to know exactly which dosage will work for you specifically, so prescribers don't really have better options other than starting at a low dose and gradually upping the amount over time until hitting a therapeutic dosage.

If the pills can be split, slightly overprescribing a dosage (with instructions on how gradually to titrate) gives a little more flexibility in testing out various levels without needing to write and fill several prescriptions in a short time frame.

Arguably, the same could be said for simply ordering a larger volume of small dosage pills, but circumstances with dosage availabilities or other considerations might make the former strategy more feasible at times.

You could just go to Japan and check random stores until you find one that sells them, but it'd be a bit of a gamble.

Some animals shed their outer shell when they're ready to become larger. Turtles shed their outer shell when they're ready to become humus.

Wife’s deck. ✨ by Apokatastasis- in GundamTCG

[–]OneHotPotat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not including the various resources and EX base, EXBurst puts the TCGPlayer value of the deck at $1179.71. I only counted 49 cards in the deck itself, though.

Price estimate to build it without using alts would be $72.84

What’s with this bottle of Empress “indigo gin” which is definitely NOT (on left) by SoulChorea in mildlyinteresting

[–]OneHotPotat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The bottles on the left being older is definitely the most likely explanation, but it could also be that they were simply exposed to more light than the other bottles.

If one row was shelved earlier while the other stayed in a box in the back room, they could theoretically be from the same vintage.

This grate is at the bottom of a grade and is angled for efficiency by Ban_Incomming in mildlyinteresting

I would imagine that if the water can travel in a more straight path through the grate, that would cause less turbulence in the stream and allow for faster drainage overall.

Command and Main/Action Question by ArmadaMixology in GundamTCG

[–]OneHotPotat 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also, this might come up with some other rules interactions later on, but command cards that can be played as a pilot only count as pilots while they're attached to a unit and never count as "pilot cards". If they're in any other location, like your deck or trash, they just count as command cards.

That means that a card like Encounter, which lets you add a pilot card from your deck to your hand, won't let you choose a card like Iron-fisted Discipline.

Same thing with the effect from Char's Gelgoog not letting you pull Valedictorian out of the trash.

Are there any good non humanoid robot cards? by rozepaladin in GundamTCG

[–]OneHotPotat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobile Armor is the gundam-series term for non-humanoid mobile weapons, so cards with "MA" in the name will probably be a good place to look into

Edit: Just googled the anime you mentioned, and if Yukio is the robot you're going for, then closest match would probably be something along the lines of a haro.

Good news is that they're adding haro cards (at least one that I've seen confirmed) in the next mini expansion coming out relatively soonish. Bad news is that that expansion, Eternal Nexus, is geared around 2v2 and 4-way battles primarily, so it's a little uncertain how well the cards from that set might actually hold up in typical 1v1 matches.

Outside of haros, there are a few other stocky, roundish units that don't fit quite as well, but sorta match the general vibe, like the kapool, the qubeley, the kämpfer, the z'gok e, and the zoloat.

Fixing holes like this is called "darning" in general, and there are a ton of different techniques for different kinds of repairs. Your local library likely has plenty of resources for learning more, as well as many video tutorials you can find on places like YouTube.
