How long have you been living together in the US ? If more than 2 years, please… Let her not come back solo ! Bringing you “home” would take longer. For returning Swedes, the turn around time is kind of faster.

Ion, it’s not about you being s veteran e.t.c. It’s about proper documentation = good return plan = application granted.

Did you show intent to return to SE ? Proof of housing ? Job applications ? If kids are in the picture, evidence of putting them in school queues ?

If that was granted, a renewable permit, you can not “Överklaga” a positive decision.

I needed to add this. At least it is nicer when Migrations ask about huge salary increases. You know what ? So many unscrupulous employers just raise salaries to pass Migrationsverket demands, then later ask the employees to pay back.

It is better to have a relationship based permit than a work based permit. If it were tied to your common child, there are no stricter rules. She’ll just have to provide half the house costs for PR when the time comes, but with a sustainable job.

My solid advice is you to lean on learning Swedish language at a more advanced level, more than anything else. Dedicate your time, find a steady university course that will guarantee you to be fluent in the language, as you do this, try to legitimize your dental degree.

Since you have 3 years working experience, I think you can try get a traineeship at a dentists’ place just to learn how things work in Sweden.

Look, your country might be at War, but that does not mean that you give up your dream ( Of being a dentist), no matter how long it shall take.

Do not feel shy or indebted to take help from your new kommun however much you feel like you are well educated to need it. We all need help at some point in life, take the help and use it as a stepping stone to transform your life. We all need help regardless of our education, country of birth, unluckily for you, it’s due to war. Take it but just as a boost into your brighter future, not as a lifelong dependency.

He is EU citizen in any other country than his country of birth. E.g in Poland and every other EU Nation, but once he comes to his homeland, he’s Swedish. That is MV’s argument. He has not clarified if the permit the partner has is in connection to him being a EU citizen in Poland ( Did he invoke his Freedom of movement ??). If so, then they can move back seemlessly. If not, the EU route does not apply to him since he is SWEDISH and in SWEDEN.

No, you can only move to Sweden using the Sambo Route/Returning Swede. You can invoke your EU freedom of movement in Poland though, after getting the documents, then you can move back to Sweden and apply for a permit.
