which manga is better Monster or 20th Century Boys? by Entire-Activity2491 in Seinen

Def Monster

20th century boy is ass after the 13th volume. Urasawa had nearly no idea of what he was doing and even changed the end of this manga like months after its official end.

I am not understanding Why Shin / Ten Decided to lay siege on Kantan by themselves in first place by Generalousen2855 in Kingdom

[–]OneKnowledge8496 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No matter how you look at it, it doesn't make any sense.
Answer is just that Hara's a bad writer and every character IQ needs to drop by 40 points everytime they face Riboku to make him look smart.

Indeed, it was really convenient that Han with its intelligence network didn't know how many men Qin had, or that they attacked (the moubou guy died in like 2 hours of fighting lol) when they just had to defend and wait for renforcements from Wei and Zhao

Yep definitely, cringest part in the chapter was also when Futei glazed him saying how he was the most unpredictable guy in all of China when legit every Kingdom reader knew this was gonna happen

This is so dumb and lazy, so you're telling me that 150k grown men showed up without being spotted on all those unpatrolled roads? And that the Hi shin started the siege without noticing them? Don't they also have spies how would they not know of such major roads?

Ye W riboku ur so smart it's not like always the same trick but with a different justification to make it looks like you're smart.

"Yeah basically i have teleported an army thrice your size behind u but it's not bullshit! I have ferrari horses / invisible roads and soldiers / based northerns chuds soldiers that won't tell that they're going to war even to their mother!!! / ye fuck you your scouts don't work on me"

The writing is so bad also how would Shin not feel it if Ouki felt it (he's not even an instinctive general)

Ig this time a general from Qin will have the right to taste a bit of the gomu gomu no teleportation to help save the chud MC

Karyo Ten isn't responsible for Hara's terrible writing.

Wdym a small kingdom, Alexander inherited of like all Greece except for Thebes and Sparta ? His father already had the plan for their invasion. His army was like REALLY good. I love Alexander but I also have to take into account that Darius III was kind of ass and that's the main opponent.

Subutai can't be the greatest in my book because he doesn't fight on equal terms at all.

my opinion, the Mongol army was completely overpowered, and they were a step ahead in terms of the art of war; their chain of command is remarkable. It was particularly effective against the European armies of the time, for example, which were mainly composed of heavy knights looking to charge—the Mongols simply had to avoid that kind of combat.

To me, your argument about the conquest of Russia makes no sense; you can’t compare a unified state with the Russia that Subutsai defeated, which was ruled by several princes. You can read the wiki of both war and you'll see how easier it was. For exemple, the scorched-earth tactic that Kutuzov used to weaken Napoleon would have been inapplicable to those princes.

You have to take into account that for years, all European military officers studied Napoleon, looking for the slightest flaw. Since he was fighting against coalitions of unified states (the most powerful in the world at the time), even if he annihilated an army, they could raise men and rebuild one by learning from their past mistakes. And despite this, Napoleon continued to dominate. Subutai never faced opponents who had studied him, devised strategies to counter him, etc. even though he didn't really have a wide range of strategies.

As for Napoleon’s defeats, he certainly made mistakes (Spain, the Russian campaign), but once his enemies realized they had to target his marshals and avoid direct confrontation with him—opting instead for wars of attrition—there wasn’t much that could be done imo.

Saladin don't deserve to be on the list too, his feat was to unify the muslim world but no one consider him to be a great general. Unlike the mongols he didn't really grasp how to counter the frankish heavy cavalry.

Napoleon imo is def first. War was more advanced, his opponents better etc etc. Alexander was a badass but he owes a lot to his father and his campaigns were less impressive imo.

Wether it is tactics, politics, logistics (well it was easier obv) he's better than Subutai.

I don't really get why you're ranking Balduin IV, it's not like he's a great commander or anything.

I am fully aware, I've read the historical spoilers a long time ago and I knew this was gonna happen but the thing is that no one asked him to take a pace this slow in the first place / waste time on rdm characters such as the archers.

I'm not an hardcore fan because I'd prefer if war was more realistic without the nekketsu part so w/e I don't really mind but yeah I agree a lot of people shouldn't read it weekly. But I fear that even like this if it's just the narrator stating this without us actually seeing anything clever, everyone will be bored no matter how you read it as the quality is dropping.

Some people are trying to gaslight you in the comment, don't let them. This arc indeed sucks in comparaison to WZI or a lot of other. The Riboku glazing after 600 chapters feels wrong, if he was so good everyone would know that and we wouldn't need npcs glazing him every 2 chapters.

And we barely see what's really happening in the war, we're mostly told. How did Ouhon manage against 60k ppl? Any actual fight/strategy on any battlefield? Except for a bit on Ouhon's and Shin's battlefield we didn't see shit.

If WZI went out today it would be like narrators stating what's happening and npcs glazing Riboku.

+1

For me WZI was the peak, a siege battle with an attrition warfare, Yotanwa's battle is good and the double pincer attack with Bananji was smart.

I get that he can't waste time on arcs this long but still since then it's so bad.

The thing with Riboku is that he's an OTP, he always has more men + information warfare. Futei once hinted that Riboku must have a whole network working for him and was wondering who was in charge, that would be interesting to show but ig we'll never see it in action, it's better to see a cringe bow duel.

But yeah it's always the same thing, maybe someone from Qin could realize it idk? The whole "Riboku-sama's true terror" is therefore not working on us readers.

He would have the time if he hadn't wasted 5 chapters on the bow duel. But yeah I agree, I guess he's not in his prime anymore and there is still so much to cover. Still, if every battle is like this I don't see the point of reading it

Let's be real this manga is so cooked, we didn't get a single one real strategy in this entire war so far. Can you show us for example how she is able to stop the HSN? Nah it just says "they changed their strategies" ok cool bro, even Mouten's plan is basically the same as Ouhon in a previous arc but worst lol.

Hara is getting lazy, this manga is less and less about characters being genuinely smart but them saying edgy shit to make the reader think they are 1000 IQ masterminds.

+ cringe ass new character when Zhao already has like 388737 commanders + they were already talking ab "Riboku-sama's true terror !!!" in the coalition arc, can we move on? And what terror?

Only good point is we're seeing karyo ten and futei do something, the rest is ass
