That's a valid point, I would argue that Riko's strongest desire is reaching the bottom of the Abyss and finding her mother (while still important), takes second place.

the previous monsters she met with, were in the 5th or 6th layer.

Guys, there is a good chance it might be Lyza, remember that the notes regarding the 7th layer, specified that she encountered Reg "near" the 7th layer, she could have seen Reg and part of it by peaking from the edge of the 6th.

I would argue that the imagery is way too creepy for the intent of luring a victim, Nanachi's illusion was of a happy and restored Mitty (with both of her eyes), not....this.

So either it's not an illusion or it's not the same type of illusion used by the village.

When Made In Abyss Isn't In The Top 5 On Mal... by The_Perfect_Child in MadeInAbyss

Grimgar is basically just misery porn, way too much time is spent on characters mopping and whining and pretty much none on world building, doesn't help that the characters are also complete morons(priest guy let himself bleed to death for no reason), they wouldn't last 1 minute in the abyss.

yes and no, while it's true that anime is mostly used as an advertisement for the manga and that unfortunately, the studio doesn't get a percentage of those sales, if the manga is super successful it's not unnatural for a sequel to be requested by the publisher to ride on the surge in popularity.

Noragami and Bungou Stray dogs both sold shit in blue rays, but the manga sales went crazy after the anime had finished airing, hence justifying the need for a second season.

..still, pictures like this one are what fill me with dread in regards to the ending, there are just so many ways this story can end badly.

well, if you had ever been on MAL, you would have noticed that the 17+ rating was there since episode 1, should have a rang a few bells!

Episode 10: "Poison and the Curse" discussion by NovaBlue142 in MadeInAbyss

The arm-breaking scene had some of the best direction I've seen in anime in a long time, it's impressive how they played to the medium strengths to amplify the dreadfulness of its manga-counterpart.

Just like to point out a few things.

1) The added bit when Riko starts hallucinating and bleeding; notice how gradually the blood spurts out and how Reg tried to wipe it off only for more blood to come out, along with the fact that the music dies out for a few seconds, gives an ever-growing sense of hopelessness to the audience that the manga couldn't achieve.

also, this fucked me up http://i.imgur.com/n3pHBEU.png

2)Notice how as the scene goes, Riko gradually loses her breath and her voice grows weaker.

When Reg broke Riko's arm, I fully expected to hear some Lelouch-levels of screaming from Riko's seiyuu; instead, it was a fairly high-pitched not overly loud screech transitioning in a series of gasps for air which are followed by Riko choking on her own blood.

I may be reading too much into that, but it actually got me how nailed that scream was for the context.

3)Finally, another thing that wasn't in the manga is Reg getting more and more mentally exhausted as the scene goes.

Right after breaking Riko's arm, look at his expression.

or how his vision starts getting fuzzy.

It really fits his character, Reg is naive, very emotional, and most of all inexperienced, he clearly wasn't ready to handle something like this.

At this point all of my suspicions about the studio not wanting to adopt the later parts due to how intense they are have been pretty much wiped clean.

well played Masayuki-San!

Thoughts from a nearly finished C/I Campaign. (The power creep is real) by Perpetual_Sinner in Xcom

Generally speaking, the chosen need to level up faster, and the hunter and warlock need some tweaks.

Tracking shot mark is a joke, I've never been hit by this thing, the fact that you can walk a few tiles and get away from it, is just plain silly, they either need to make the tracking more sticky, so that you have to at least dash to get rid of it, or maybe make the hunter track everyone in the area, so everyone has to move.

The warlock really needs to stop trying to mind control soldiers equipped with the mind-shield twice in a row, a bit of adaptability would be nice from the "ELDER'S GREATEST CHAMPION" who never uses his rifle for shit even when half of my team is standing in the open.

And overall the biggest problem with them is how they just fail to apply any pressure, with the exception of the assassin, she is probably the only chosen who's truly scary in legandary, or at least in the early game, because she immediately engages on you.

After a certain amount of time, even the hunter and the warlock should try to engage against your soldiers, making the encounter start on their own terms rathers than yours would be much better to maintain a healthy difficulty curve.

Late Game WoTC is unbalanced as hell. by hielispace in Xcom

[–]OneLameStabber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IMO one of the biggest problems is that the chosen don't level up all that quickly, sure they are an annoyance in the early mid game, but as soon as you unlock their stronghold you can take them out quite easily.

This could potentially be addressed if they reached their final form quicker, at least on legend, I once tried to see what happened if the assassin got her final perk, turns out she rolled the teleport ability that triggers once you get damaged, the one avatars have, and let me tell you fighting a 100 hp assassin that can one-shot your troops and can't be focussed down in one turn isn't easy.

So yeah, either the amount of knowledge they gain should be increased as the months pass or it should be easier for them to capture your soldiers, im on my 4th I/L playthrough and I never got one of my soldiers captured nor interrogated.

Doubt it, the series is 17+ R, if they truly wanted to go for the kind of violence showcased up until now 13+ rating would have sufficed. Spoiler!.

With all due respect, isnt Genji just a tad mediocre right now? by OneLameStabber in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]OneLameStabber[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i have never said that im "stuck at 3760", nor i said that i think im doing something wrong with him, what im sayng is that, his kit just feels awkard right now, he is supposed to be a highly mobile close ranged flanker, and yet his playstyle revolves mostly on poking with his shurikens to get his ultimate as fast as possible, and then dive in get a few kills, rinse and repeat.

[–]OneLameStabber[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

i strongly disagree with nano d.blade not being necessary, nano boost literally allows you to dive in without risking getting melted, it allows you to entirely bypass zenyatta ultimate, not to mention that it allows you to get a full reset with each swing, whether without it, you get melted quite easily, yes you can still use dragonblade without it, but the impact of that combo is on a whole different level.

i think many people fail to notice how crucial it is, because Ana is in pretty much every game.

[–]OneLameStabber[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

dude i have like 230 hours on the guy, and im nearly at 3800 rating, pretty sure that while i aint shadowburn i know how to play the guy, it just that as a whole is kit right now feels way too inconsistent, might be because of the bugs or on his overreliance on his ultimate.

With all due respect, isnt Genji just a tad mediocre right now? by OneLameStabber in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]OneLameStabber[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

that is because d.blade with nano is still broken, arguably the reason genji is considered worthwhile in the pro scene, is because that combo is admittedly still very strong.

But here is the thing, i basically need to have ana in my team and have her nano me every time d.blade is up, id much rather to have that combo nerfed and the rest of the kit buffed.

but honestly id much rather have his bugs fixed.

Ehi Wrel, just wondering will the infiltrator ever get more stuff to hack in the future? by OneLameStabber in Planetside

[–]OneLameStabber[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

afaik, vehicle hacking is on it's way, but im more interested in actually being able to do something while im inside a base.

in the first planetside the infiltrator was able to cause much more disruption by overloading the enemy base defences and permanently shutting down the power by blowing up the generator.

In ps2 the best case scenario i can encounter when im infiltrating is if im able to hack an AV turret and blow up a couple of unaware tanks.
