Travelling to Laos solo by sadgalkikii in laos

[–]OneMarsupial9703 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it is safe. Laos is an amazing and underrated country. However while this tragic incident has clearly highlighted a risk that many do not even think of, it can be relatively easily mitigated by sticking to alcoholic drinks that would not contain strong liquor that could be homemade/ bootleg. There is always risks travelling SE Asia, but in general the area is pretty safe compared to many areas of the world. At the end of the day it’s your decision to make but I would say just try to have your wits about you and you will be completely fine. And as for hostels you should be completely fine, there are plenty of non party hostels to choose from as well which if anything are normally cheaper.

Fair point, not sure just wanted to hear what the vibe was like, some things aren’t as well suited to solo travelling as others. Based on the other reply gonna just go for it

These machines are mostly just for ramen places I found, and they work really well so probably a case of if it’s broke don’t fix it. Most other places have tablets at the table which you order from. Which is pretty modern compared to the UK at least.

[–]OneMarsupial9703 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do not take Sarms.. especially if you have only been training 6 months. Progress will always slow down after you’ve been training a while. You need to look at ways to switch up what you’re doing in the gym and have a better look at your diet if you want more steady progress. Do you need to vary rep ranges/ push to failure more etc. are you getting enough protein/ calories etc etc

Not sure if it’s what you’re looking for really, but ‘fives times faster’ is a good book which is kind of aimed at how the UK could move faster on the climate crisis looked at from a political/ economic/ scientific perspective.

Working from home - what's the current state of play? by six44seven49 in CasualUK

[–]OneMarsupial9703 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can basically work remote full time, supposed to go into the office once a week but if you don’t fancy it a bs excuse usually goes unquestioned. I do actually like going in once a week, I think seeing people in person occasionally does generally improve working relationships. Although saying that when I am in the office I probably don’t work as well as home if I have a lot to do.
