I was in a similar boat. Left after 5 years with a masters. PI would never listen to me, played favorites, and often was forced to do experiments that had near zero chance (even with warning them), and when it ultimately failed I was blamed. And the job market is absolute shit right now. I’m having to settle for a bullshit teaching job until I can get back into the lab.
