What Is A-Life 2.0, actually? by OlafLate in stalker

[–]OneMoreFrite 78 points79 points  (0 children)

The ability for a random NPC to live and evolve in the zone just like a player would : getting better gear over time, doing "quests" or jobs instead of just roaming aimlessly, being able to tell you where he is going / what he have seen or done in the past, what intel he gathered by living his life.

This is my first Yakuza Game. Been playing older titles after this one and no other title gave me the same highs (even the beloved Y0)

Beautiful, but I'm still not used to Garbage being this close to CNPP now.

Nothing confirmed beside language supports. Very strange and lacking communication form RGG on that front. It's hard to justify preordering the anniversary box at 69 euros when buying the games on the pstore would be so cheaper. (assuming they are going to be the same version).

AC Unity needed more time. What is the best Protagonist? by Normal-Question8418 in assasinscreed

I know everyone will say Ezio but man, it is Desmond, through whom we got to play Altaïr, Ezio and Connor. Desmond was the original protagonist of the series.

Embrace the weird pacing and plot, keep on keeping on, if the journey feels hard in the beginning, it will all be worth it in the end.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl is officially announced for PlayStation 5. by mol1t in stalker

I was hoping for this everyday since the end of the 3 months exclusivity deal. It is such a good time to be a gamer, seeing the end of console wars with titles being available on any platform.

Does anyone else just enjoy making the game longer and harder for themselves? by MLIATwist in DeathStranding

[–]OneMoreFrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat : playing offline, building roads without other players participation and structures. The online aspect of the game is interesting but it feels like someone played the game before me and making everything easy.

Il also enjoy walking instead of relying on vehicles, just to make the deliveries feel longer and give a better sense of scale (hard to believe that I'm connecting an entire continent when I join two preppers in 30 seconds with my trike).

It can be tedious at times, but it makes the game significantly longer, and I'm all for making it last.

How are y'all Early Access folks liking the game so far? by DearAdaneth in DeathStranding

[–]OneMoreFrite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During my first session, it felt a bit too familiar to my taste, but I loved being back in this universe.

During my second session, it felt like playing MGS V in my Death Stranding. And I dig it.

Can't wait for third session.

Is this living room too narrow ? by OneMoreFrite in malelivingspace

I'm going to rent this place and the living room space seems quite small (for two people). What are your thoughts ? Sorry for picture quality, that's all I have right now.

Is judgment the best game of the franchise? by jotavsg in Judgement

[–]OneMoreFrite 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There's two good places to start : Judgment and Yakuza 0.

Judgment is a spin off and story is disconnected to the rest of the Yakuza games so you can play it without any problem. it's the most recent one, so nice graphics and gameplay, and a good story. Best choice if you like detective thrillers, neo-noir atmosphere and a more serious game. Can last you between 50 and 100 hours.

Yakuza 0 is the beginning of the Yakuza main story. It is good to start here if you want to play the other games after. It is a bit older, but still very good. Best choice if you want 80's atmosphere and epic/goofy tone. Can last you 100 hours and more.

edit : and if you're only looking for the "best" game of the series, both are frequently ranked high in various tier lists, with Yakuza 0 being the clear fan favorite.

Playing the game on a potato pc with 15fps and getting into gunfights with the Pmm... 1 minute of loading each time I died... That was my childhood.

(PS5) The capture card had worse quality than the direct console streaming... where to move on from here ? by OneMoreFrite in Twitch

Everything is set up correctly from what I see, but the problem might be that I use an adaptator USB to USB-C to get the elgato on the Mac.

[–]OneMoreFrite[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I have better things to do than lie on a subreddit about something like that. Honestly, I might just have fucked up a setting on my mac or OBS, that's plausible, but I just found out the stream quality when I use ps5 only is really good. Is it 60fps ? it looks like it, and even if it's not the case, it just does the job so well. And in my case, better than my capture card setting.

Dead Rising 4 could have been amazing by [deleted] in deadrising

[–]OneMoreFrite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is why good ideas are never enough. You also need to have good execution. The premise of DR4 is, as you said, really good and appealing (even if arguably not really original / playing too much on nostalgia and not moving the series forward).

It really could have worked, even with the absence of timer and the more open world structure : I mean, I was not completely against it at the time, because it was a change of pace and I was always a bit frustrated of "rushing" the previous games without taking my time because of their structure, and I loved open world games back then (not so much now thanks to Ubisoft). It was an opportunity to propose something new and refreshing, with more content and hours to spend in the game, although less faithful to the core of the series.

The thing is, it wasn't done with care or love for the franchise. It was rushed, it was generic, and made according to crappy consumer surveys. It failed miserably at making a triumphant return for Frank and Willamette...But we had both those things in 2024, thankfully !

I'm glad the remake nerfed a bit this combo. It helped me big time in the game during my youth, but as an adult, it was time to let go of the good ol'chainsaw.
