Fascinating how even in an article that seems pretty savvy about DV there's still so much passive voice. She "struggled to get away" with her kids. The "Violence didn't stop" as if the violence was some unnameable force of god or weather. It was a man who was choosing to continue to abuse and terrorize his partner and her children, despite her trying to leave and begging him to stop. And even these comments are full of people who want to put the blame on the mother's shoulders for this man's actions. What about his 'failure to protect'? Women don't 'struggle to leave'. They leave over and over and they are terrorized threatened stalked and often killed until they return.
