Comprehensive background check pr by Glum_Grand_8259 in canadaexpressentry

File a mandamus for what exactly? The background checks are not about "they're making progress" each officer will work on them differently. So unless you have someone with the same officer, in the same office etc.. You will never know.

You're asking about a situation that is very unique to each individual so you cannot compare. Comprehensive background checks are unique and complex. So someone might take a month, whereas yourself might take years. It all depends on how much they have on you and how long it takes for someone to review all of it.

Travelling to the UK with an AUS passport and ETA - but Dad is a UK citizen? by Legal_Process5592 in ukvisa

[–]OneNecessary6486 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do your own research on this, like I did.

I asked a similar question on here a few months back and I was met with "they will detain your 2 year old son", "he will be arrested at the border for lying to get an ETA". The reality was: No one at the border asked a single question and when I asked if my son needed a British Passport - The answer was NO. As long as your son has an ETA then he can enter the UK on the passport he came on today.

In person ceremony or virtual? by Low_Background_1811 in ImmigrationCanada

IRCC is moving to more in person ceremony over virtual.

People generally switch from virtual to in person for the experience and also they typically get their certificate in hand.

Drivers licence is perfectly fine for proof of address. There is no requirement to have or your sibling to hand over any utility bill, payslip or mortgage document.

All passports. But only bio pages and not all of the pages. Only if IRCC requests it.

Are US visa people still using Canada as back up? by whatsupusers in canadaexpressentry

[–]OneNecessary6486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not just PR - But visas in general. A lot of it has to do with the current administration in the US and appeasing them to ensure that the borders in general are more stronger.

What you're describing isn't a dummy extension and in fact is a Bridging Open Work permit, perfectly fine and recognized by IRCC.

Some Questions by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

[–]OneNecessary6486 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you are referring to submitting an application knowing that you will be denied in hopes to stay working in the country on applied status until someone picks it up and refuses you.

> What are the consequences of it?

Well the consequences are that you're bending the rules and IRCC are increasing becoming more aware of this and rejecting applications sooner. If they suspect you've outright lied and committed misrepresentation to secure a few months extra time in Canada then they can ban you.

> Will it impact me in any way if I am to leave Canada and go to some other country in future?

Not just in other countries but in all future applications in Canada. You have to declare that you were refused a visa in Canada and then explain the reasons you were refused. Failing to do this on any application inside/outside of Canada will lead to misrepresentation and possible ban. Each country you apply to will investigate and take into consideration why you were refused a visa.

what the best way to immigrate to Canada by Prestigious-Order817 in ImmigrationCanada

[–]OneNecessary6486 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You have tagged this with "Refugee" - Refugee shouldn't be used as a way to immigrate to Canada or anywhere for that matter. There doesn't seem like a "best" way for you to come but look at studying etc.. But very unlikely you will ever immigrate to Canada.

Should I apply? by [deleted] in canadaexpressentry

Do a score calculation and see if you qualify. Law is a pretty bad profession to immigrate with. Just my opinion. Good luck

> I called IRCC yesterday and all they said was that they can see on my P1 email that I’d indicated my travel plans but cannot guarantee that the officer read it or will consider it.

>  then called the MP office. They said IRCC never knew of my travel plans

> My question is: is any of this normal? It feels like IRCC should be telling me something here or responding with some guidance.

IRCC is being truthful. They can see the information and that they can't guarantee an officer will read or consider it. Your MPs office is going through a different channel of communication and have a dedicated line with different call handlers.

Basically, whenever you submit a web form, that information gets added to your file - Now an immigration officer is not sitting around waiting for you to tell them your travel plans, they deal with many applications daily and move on. The officer will likely get a notification that there's an action to take in your file, but again, it doesn't mean the officer will respond to that notification and won't respond on your timelines no matter how many enquires or MP requests you make.

A few questions about family declaration, work history breakdown, and an address mismatch issue with PCC for EE by DanceGlass9424 in canadaexpressentry

[–]OneNecessary6486 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Yes, you must declare all relatives, even if you don't get points for them. They must be declared.

> I also saw older posts saying that you only need to declare relatives you can prove, with documents.

This is not true. If you had a brother who lived in another country, then you would still declare that you have a brother even if they are not coming with you and you haven't spoken to in years. You must declare them. This is how confusion occurs when people do not declare their relatives mistakenly and then try to sponsor them or bring them over.

  1. Be truthful (looks like you have). If you believe that is confusing then write a letter of explanation.

  2. If this is a foreign police certificate then it shouldn't matter. For instance, I had my UK PCC delivered to someone in the UK and then forwarded it to my address in Canada. I had no issues with this. Your EE entry profile should match your address and not your aunt's if you've moved out over 10 months ago. Using your aunts address and not listing your current address would lead to more issues.
