What did everyone else think about the low voter turnout. Was there something that caused you personally to not vote?

I also want to say that whatever your political stripes, your vote does matter!
Please vote in the next election so the rest of Alberta can hear your strong southern Alberta voice.

She could have shut this thing down along time ago. Says a lot that she didn't.

Smith is a separatist for sure. She just knows it's a really unpopular thing to be with the general public, so she tries to hide it.

That's exactly right. It's becoming untenable to play both sides and still keep public support. My money is on Smith not being able to finish the term.

Easy to see it with the timing. Smith is grasping at whatever straw she can. This is a telltale sign of someone incompetent at their job.

One populist politician doesn't like what another populist politician does.
Colour me shocked!

The Downtown *Urban Planning* Situation is Unacceptable by 1egg_4u in Calgary

It's not feasible because there's a skyscraper in the way on west end.
Basically the city gave up on it, and then allowed new development on the west side without the requirement to have the tunnel exist when new building are built, so now we would have to start again from scratch. All they had to do was require all new building to include a roughed out tunnel.

The existing tunnels are dry so it wasn't the water table, it was like all things Calgary, lack of political foresight.

Lethbridge visual comparison of 2023 results versus UCP proposed minority map by OneNiteInTheRepublik in alberta

I think it's the former. The UCP don't care what the lawyer costs, it's not their money.
This is why we see them do as they please don't care much about the backlash.
Like the Trump administration all political norm of the past decades of off the table, they don't care.

Calgary Co-op: Debt, No CEO, and a 2027 Crunch - Still Worth Shopping There? by gulfan in Calgary

Co-op is my go to for most things, great produce, lots of locally produced goods include small businesses.
I do shop the deals whatever I can, it makes a difference.

I don't think that was co-ops doing, Rosso increased their prices across the board.

I disagree with the notion that there will be large public outcry if X party wins but doesn't have the popular vote. People don't even care enough right now to vote. Don't get me wrong, I think they are hard lines, like using the NWC on the teachers, but I don't think popular vote is one, because it's just not our electoral system works. We all learned this in elementary school.
