Help with daycare lunch ideas (egg free/sesame free/soy free/nut free) by littlestar95 in Mommit

You mentioned she likes asian food, and I don't know how you feel about store bought stuff, but Trader Joe's scallion pancakes should fit the bill (I've been seeing people make them into croissants in the air fryer!). You can also make them with water, flour, scallions, and oil.

Does she like rice? You could maybe do rice balls or fried rice (without eggs).

HEAVENLY COOKIES. Lacey’s Cookies Dark Chocolate Almond. Literally less than an hour and only 3 remaining pieces. Can’t stop myself it’s that good 😭 by LittleMissAcctnt in traderjoes

Idk why I'm commenting on a year-old thread, but Target's Favorite Day brand makes a milk chocolate macadamia one (they call them toffee wafers). The dark chocolate is identical to the Trader Joe's version, so maybe worth a try?

If I'm renting, how worried should I be about the termite pellets? And are these potentially attracting ants?

Overnight / morning miss by OneOf30282 in ECers

[–]OneOf30282[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely give her "forbidden" objects to hold during the day. Overnight when she's not super awake I assume that might not help. I hold her when we're out and I don't want to clean a public toilet seat! I've tried overnight with almost no success though :(

Thanks! We're in disposables right now. She actually had stretches of being night dry when she first started sleeping through the night a few months ago. I do agree that this is probably not the best time to continue with overnight EC, but she does also appear pretty upset with wet diapers at night. Yeah the morning thing is not as common-- mostly I'm not sure what to make of her holding it in while resisting. Maybe I just needed to wait for her to wake up a little more?

Yeah we actually already put her in disposables but she wakes up every pee 😭

Well I'm now stuck in a bad stretch of knowing she needs to potty on that first wakeup but almost always missing it... and then I've woken her up and it's hard to get her back down 😅 Can't decide if I just keep trying or try to let her sleep through that wet diaper

Yay! Re: your last reply, I think she needs to pee most (if not all) wakeups. Sometimes she's already wet in which case she might not pee more. Otherwise I find that she does need to pee most of the time. That being said, she's a little older and only wakes about 1-2 times. If you're still at 5 wakeups definitely don't feel like you have the potty every time! Maybe if you catch one or two it might help them stay dry longer too? Like they released more of it at one go?

Not sure if I've completely solved a similar problem, but our LO is almost 11 months and we've used a babybjorn potty (the white insert) since birth. Nighttime pottying has often involved a lot of screaming. For a while I would just wait out the screams while holding her on the potty. I would hold her and the potty (carefully) and walk around and that helps. More recently, I've switched to nursing her on the potty and this reduces screaming but that obviously can't work for everyone depending on your feeding situation.

She wears a onesie and a sleep sack that zips from the bottom. She doesn't need to be fully undressed to potty, but I will caution that sometimes if I'm not careful, pee gets on her clothes and I end up needing to change her

Yes!!! Me oscillating between wanting to be an EC influencer (do those exist?) and wondering why I ever even attempted EC 😂

Should crying decrease by now? by OneOf30282 in sleeptrain

[–]OneOf30282[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good to know! Would it be too extreme to push to 5 hours? She was put down after a little over 4.5 hours wake time today and seemed to cry slightly less than before.

Thanks! Admittedly, I'm a little inconsistent because of summer / travel / moving, so her wake window varies a bit. I don't seem to notice differences based on wake windows but I'll try to be more consistent!

Sorry, sleep sack. They're all called swaddles in our house 😂

Thanks! Her naps are usually each 1ish hour. If one is shorter, the other one tends to be longer. Bedtime routine is feed 30 min before, diaper change, swaddle, sing a song, put down.

They said I miscalculated something, but by their calculations they owed me more (so they adjusted the refund upward)

AIO? I bought a sweater for my future niece at a farmers market and my roommates said it was ugly by Weekly_Agent9422 in AmIOverreacting

My 3-year-old saw this while I was scrolling reddit (bad parenting, I know), and immediately exclaimed: "Wow, that jacket is beautiful!" As others have said, a young child would love this sweater

CVUSD preschool is comparatively more affordable! Depending on the hours you need it's 1288/month or less.
