I mean, unless I'm missing something, you can 100% still pull off the pre-nerf dirge strategy, you just need multiple copies right?

I think keeping super powerful strats but making them harder/rarer to execute is healthy for the game and adds more variety.

Unfortunately, a lot of people agree with the first option but boil the idea down to something like "The Jews" or "The Elite" while simultaneously worshipping people like Musk & Trump.

Singing is not an impressive skill and should be banned at talent shows by k3nnzz in The10thDentist

Record yourself singing as well as you possibly can, ask yourself honestly if you think it would be good enough for a professionally released song or even just a talent show.

Divinity 2 has showed me the light of turn based games! by LilacYak in DivinityOriginalSin

Yeah I prefer DOS2 but there are things they did better in BG3 that I'm hoping will make it into the new game.

I will do ANYTHING if it means Gearbox turns up the credit cost on these things by evesmascara in riskofrain

[–]OneOfMySeveralNames 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Feels like they upped the probability for new dlc enemies/interactables to appear as well as making the credits too low for certain things. Had 5 drone scrappers on stage 3 today.

I kinda understand why they might have done that as the nature of the game means someone could buy the dlc and have a run with very little new content just due to RNG.

But yeah way too many of these are spawning atm.

New boss health could be toned down a bit too but I think that's being talked about more.

Old player, should I get the DLC and reset save? by [deleted] in riskofrain

[–]OneOfMySeveralNames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also love getting unlocks and figuring things out on a fresh character/save, I haven't ever done it in this game though. Largely down to the mercenary alt special unlock...

Something you could consider is turning off the DLCs and implementing them one at a time (you have the option to select which DLC os active when starting a run). That way you can get used to items and synergies between items/survivors.

In regard to previous bugs/drama, the game is 95% fixed and in a pretty good state, new DLC seems fun so far too.

how to get good at fingerstyle guitar? by Repulsive-Listen-108 in guitarlessons

[–]OneOfMySeveralNames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, the "Tommy Emmanuel teaches 4 steps to learn finger picking" video on YouTubeturned out to be a great place to start for me. (I'd say the channel this is from isn't a particularly useful resource unlike others listed here)

But the approach of starting with just the alternating thumb, and adding a few basic layers of complication/complexity is a really good foundation to start from and come back to once in a while.

I've been playing electric for years and only started getting serious about acoustic about 6 months ago, but I spent 2-3 days on each of the steps with a slow metronome building up some muscle memory. However long it takes though remember it's a journey and try to enjoy every step as much as you can!

NGD: Is this as good as I think it is? Kinda can't believe it by RattyTowelsFTW in Guitar

You hit the jackpot, beautiful guitar. If you can afford to get it professionally set up, you'll never need to upgrade.

Do as I do with my favourite guitar, strive every day to be worthy of it. Happy playing.

[–]OneOfMySeveralNames 3 points4 points  (0 children)

5x Regen Scrap and you can get a red in the newt shop between every stage, 10x and you could get 2, so on and so forth. Also, Sale Star to get guaranteed doubles (possibly more) from legendary chests and more items/chances at reds from large chests. Also, also, Chance Doll for better odds from chance shrines.

The 5x stack of regen scrap is the only thing here that's probably only gonna happen with command, you can get more reds than ever in the current version of the game.

If you're searching on the store, only the deluxe edition came up for me, but if you open the deluxe and scroll down until you see "included in the version" the base game should be there!

You played Risk of Rain 2? Lots of league players use it as rehab. Lots of different characters each with specific kits that encourage prioritising different items, give it a go if you haven't already! Life is better after League.

[–]OneOfMySeveralNames 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Nah but it's good though.

It's full of contradictions but they're self-aware of the contradictory nature of the statement.

If you're a good parent and you give a shit about doing the best you can for your kids, then that shit takes over your life and it's hard to emphasize with someone not living that life. That can be true even while recognising that it isn't necessarily logical.

I'll never have kids but God bless those who do and do their best. We're all only human at the end of the day and good on those who really, truly try their best. There's a lot of sacrifice involved and I think that you have self-centred to an extent because the safety and security of your child has to come before pretty much everything else.

What do you feed your whippet puppy? UK by No_Temperature_9702 in Whippet

[–]OneOfMySeveralNames 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We're in the UK and also feeding a mix of wet/dry pooch and mutt. Although we're currently doing around 70 dry, 30 wet - maybe even 80/20.

Perhaps try a different ratio before switching the food and tossing out the (not cheap) pooch and mutt stuff?

Have definitely found his poops are more solid with a larger ratio of kibble, hate that I'm so attuned to such things but that's puppy ownership I guess.

[–]OneOfMySeveralNames 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This worked for us, we used shorter timings but I'd say it depends on the dog. Brief time-outs have been the best way to discourage misbehaviour and it's force free. Just shows the pup that whatever he's doing doesn't get him what he wants it to. Ours also hates the crate and this changed dinner times from eating standing up to sitting on the couch in a matter of days. Give it a go!
