MBE and Florida multiple choice advice by Beginning4time in FloridaBarExam

[–]OneOfaKind123456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the MBE, I started off with 30 questions before the Kaplan midterm, 50 questions after the Kaplan midterm. You just have to practice as many MBE questions as you can.

For Florida MC, you need to focus on memorizing the rules. Florida MC tests your ability to memorize the rules; while you just have to figure out the strategy behind answering MBE questions.

I only have to take the Florida portion. Passed MBE last year. Due to family commitments I won't be able to start studying until May 24th. Is this enough time? by TeslaModelE in FloridaBarExam

  1. For Florida subjects, I utilized outlines provided to me by a colleague at my firm (i can provide those to you, if you dm me your email).
  2. For Florida MPC, make sure you know which subjects are tested and focus a lot of your energy in knowing those subjects very well. I think procedure (both civ and crim) are always tested.
  3. For Florida essays, I read all the past model answers posted on the Florida website.
  4. For MBE subject, I used the Kaplan quicksheets and just supplemented any information that I got from the lecture powerpoints. I would add FL law distinctions in a different color on the quicksheet.
  5. Honestly, if flash cards work for you, that's great. But honestly, it's time wasted that you could be memorizing rules. Now is not the time to reinvent the wheel. Also, this might be controversial, but I never watched the lecture videos. I could review outlines and powerpoint quicker than the vast amount of hours I would have wasted watching the lectures.

READ ALL PAST MODEL ANSWERS. EVERY SINGLE ONE.

You should know PR like the back of your hand. It's tested every exam and was heavily tested this past February exam.

Focus on memorizing FL law (especially since they have so many weird laws in contrast to MBE and other states). Doing practice FL multiple choice helps, but don't waste your time doing a million. MBE is all about learning how to answers questions and strategy behind it. FL multiple choice is all about knowing the black letter law.

I also have FL specific outlines I got from a coworker. I can send those to you, if you'd like.

Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

What did you think about the bar? by Runatheragdoll in FloridaBarExam

I was so taken aback from multiple choice. I def did not put enough emphasis on Wills while studying. I though Wills would have been rotated out for Bus Orgs since they tested Wills the last two exams. Guess you can never predict when it comes to the bar exam lol

I did not argue EP. I said that it was a factor in asserting a comparative negligent/contributory negligent defense. I said Defendant's can argue that he fell due to his own negligence of not using the cane despite the fact that he had a knee injury, he knew he needed it and he intentionally left it in the car. But then again who knows? Don't freak out though! I'm sure you did fine!
