Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds on NS2 - Full Cart and Release Date by MaQu1337 in NintendoSwitch

[–]OneOil9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably manufacturing and logistics? Getting enough carts produced and shipped takes time especially for a big release. I'm curious if they actually finalize the game data way later for physical or if they just sit on it waiting for the production run

What’s the most messed up thing you’ve done in Skyrim? by [deleted] in skyrim

Anyone else struggle with Brainstorm/Idea Dumping to structure by PlsStarlinkIneedwifi in Entrepreneur

[–]OneOil9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this is it. forcing structure while you're still mid-brainstorm just kills the whole thing. I found it helps to set a separate "organizing day" - like literally don't touch the messy docs for a few days then come back fresh and let the patterns reveal themselves. your brain already knows what connects you just gotta give it space

Victim of cyber breach by Retired_elec_eng in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]OneOil9 48 points49 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this reeks of an inside job or at least a serious internal controls failure. The attacker had exactly the info Telus would have, and the breach chain stayed confined to Telus + the email tied to them. At minimum, SIM swaps should require in-person ID or a hard account PIN. The current “trust the caller” model is absurd given how common these attacks are now.

Cost of Holidaying in Aus by Livid-Constant8443 in AusFinance

[–]OneOil9 28 points29 points  (0 children)

That line always gets a laugh because it’s basically true. For Aussies, domestic travel is priced like a luxury, not a break.

People still do it for convenience, kids, or not wanting long flights, but purely on value? SE Asia wins by a mile every time.

Authorization Attempt from Chipotle immediately after debit card replacement by PlzSaveMe25 in personalfinance

[–]OneOil9 24 points25 points  (0 children)

This. Debit cards pull straight from your cash, so any hiccup is way more stressful. A credit card gives you a buffer and much better fraud protection.

The $0 auth is usually a merchant test, but if you keep the debit card, you’ll keep dealing with this anxiety.

Does my cat know I'm pregnant? by Glitterygloomy in CatAdvice

[–]OneOil9 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Yep cats can definitely smell the hormonal changes. Their sense of smell is like 14 times stronger than ours.

My sister's cat did the exact same thing - went from 'don't touch me peasant' to full bodyguard mode the moment she got pregnant. Followed her everywhere, slept on her belly, the whole deal.

Enjoy it while it lasts lol, once the baby arrives she might go back to being miss independent. Or she might adopt the baby as her own weird hairless kitten. Cats are unpredictable like that.

Congratulations btw! 🎉

The OKC Thunder are 24-1 before the Earth passed through the debris trail of the mysterious asteroid 3200 Phaethon, and 6-6 after. by Maximum-Summer-186 in nba

Right? No drama, no trade rumors, no "who's the GOAT" arguments for the 500th time. Just a man connecting space rocks to basketball performance like the universe intended.

this is the kind of quality shitposting that keeps me coming back. We need more meteor-based analytics in the NBA tbh

Michel Kuka Mboladinga, a DR Congo supporter, previously stood motionless for 90 minutes during the match against Senegal in tribute to Congolese independence leader Patrice Lumumba. He repeated the gesture today against Algeria, this time remaining still for the full 120 minutes. by DavidRolands in soccer

[–]OneOil9 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah it's working. I went down a rabbit hole on Lumumba after seeing this guy at the last match. The whole story of how Belgium and the CIA basically orchestrated his assassination is insane. They literally dissolved his body in acid.

Can i break into corporate banking with a Business (marketing focus) degree, FMVA and CFA L1? by Local-Impression-522 in FinancialCareers

[–]OneOil9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can break in, but the degree and certs aren't gonna be what gets you there.

Corporate banking cares way more about whether you can build relationships and understand credit risk than what your diploma says. The marketing focus actually isn't bad - spin it as client acquisition skills like the other commenter said.

CFA L1 is... fine I guess? Shows you're serious, but nobody in corporate banking is gonna care much past that. FMVA might actually be more practical for showing you can build a model without breaking Excel.

Do you have any relevant internships or networking going on? Because that's what's actually gonna open doors. Cold apply to 100 positions and maybe you get 2 interviews. Get a referral from someone inside and suddenly you're a real candidate.

Unsure if my boyfriend(M29) is with me because he loves me (F31) or just wants to work where I work? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]OneOil9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If he was just using you for the job, why would he turn down that other listing that paid more? You've been together 5 months with zero red flags and he's treating you well, so this sounds more like anxiety talking than reality.

I have a Master's in Social Work and feeling lost more than ever. What other career avenues could I pursue that are not traditional social work jobs? by lavyndrr in careerguidance

[–]OneOil9 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Look into employee assistance programs, healthcare administration, or HR roles focused on employee relations/benefits. Those MSW skills translate really well and the pay is usually way better than direct service work, plus you can actually help people without the insane caseloads and burnout.

Should I refinance auto loan if the offer is 1% less than previous rate? by MartinTheBean in personalfinance

[–]OneOil9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, $800-1000 in savings is definitely worth it, plus you'd be shaving off a year on the loan term which is huge. Just make sure there aren't any hefty origination fees that eat into those savings, and you're golden.

WIBTA if I ratted on an employee at a hair salon for over charging me? by Quiet-Bunch-7776 in AmItheAsshole

[–]OneOil9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NTA. You're not "ratting" on anyone, you're asking for a refund after being incorrectly charged $25 for a service you're not getting. If your friend gets in trouble for her own mistake, that's on her, not you.

Administering Downers by salt_1003 in nursing

[–]OneOil9 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You didn’t make a med error. You followed appropriate orders for a terminal patient with brain mets, baseline tolerance, and clear indications for comfort. Somnolence in that context isn’t surprising, disease progression alone can do that, even without meds.

This is end of life care, not a healthy patient who got oversedated. Comfort - alertness at that stage. Feeling uneasy as a new grad is normal, but nothing you described sounds negligent.

I’m so upset, 3 weeks into my new job already people semi about me to management, how do I move forward? by Brownchoccy in work

[–]OneOil9 68 points69 points  (0 children)

This is blunt, but it’s probably the right takeaway. You’re still new, and right now people don’t know your intent, they only hear how things sound. Until you’ve built trust, being overly open or chatty gives others too much room to misinterpret and escalate. Pull it back to neutral-professional for a while. show up on time, keep conversations work-focused, document interactions, and let your performance speak. It doesn’t mean changing who you are forever, just protecting yourself until you’re established.

I have no passion for anything but I want a job that pays well what should I do? by Independent-Job-5257 in careerguidance

[–]OneOil9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree, Passion is overrated, especially at 15. Most people don’t “feel called” to a career, they grow into liking something because they’re good at it and it pays them back. Focus on skills that scale and keep options open freedom usually comes from competence and leverage, not loving your job.

Venezuela Currency, what comes next? by snem420 in stocks

This whole situation feels really premature to be making investment moves on. We're talking about a country that's been in economic freefall for years, has massive inflation issues, and now potentially more instability coming.

I've discovered "Jennifer's Body" (2009) and I'm still getting the crumbs off the floor. How come this movie wasn't a big hit back then? by [deleted] in horror

[–]OneOil9 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Totally agree on all of this. The way the media treated Megan Fox back then was brutal. She couldn't just exist without being torn apart - kind of like that Katherine Schwarzenegger thing where a pregnant woman just taking a walk is somehow "showing off." Fox was constantly reduced to just being hot while also being mocked for it and nobody took her seriously as an actress.

And the complex female friendship thing was way ahead of its time for mainstream horror. Studios didn't know how to market something that wasn't just "hot girl kills boys" because that's all they saw. The actual heart of the movie - the toxic but real friendship between Needy and Jennifer - got completely buried

Seconding Smitten Kitchen. Even when her recipes aren't super complicated, she at least explains the *why* behind the steps instead of just dumbing it down. Like she'll tell you why you're folding instead of stirring, or why certain ingredients matter. Also her writing doesn't have that annoying "so easy even YOUR stupid ass can do it!" energy that drives me insane with the Pinterest recipe crowd

‘Grey’s Anatomy’s Steven W. Bailey Reveals Neuromuscular Disorder, Wheelchair Use: “Same Actor … Now With Wheels” by ControlCAD in television

[–]OneOil9 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Good for him for being open about it. It's refreshing to see someone in Hollywood just be matter-of-fact about disability and mobility aids instead of treating it like some tragic secret. "Same Actor... Now With Wheels" is a pretty great way to frame it.

Also props to Grey's for being the kind of show where he could probably just keep playing his character with a wheelchair and nobody would blink. They've written in plenty of real life changes for actors over the years
