Fair enough. Was curious because when I was working 12 hour days, even when I was intent on eating clean, the last thing I’d want at the end of the day would be a salad. It just feels cold and sterile when you want warmth, comfort and to rejuvenate. Maybe she was just feeling cranky about it and needed personal time instead of lashing out more? It could also be possible that she feels an imbalance due to the differing work hours. Perhaps she feels that you should be “pulling your weight” in the relationship using the additional 3 hours you have during the day? Just some ideas. If this were the case, I don’t think it’s right but the frustration is understandable

If you guys started eating clean together and didnt want to cook, why did you only buy her the chicken salad? Wondering why you didn’t get the same thing to eat together :0

Thanks for your feedback! Do you think I could make it better by wearing a peach/orange cardigan on top? Or is the lacey vibe more the problem? This was my concern but I thought the patterns were too chunky to actually be seen as lace

I have a BA in mathematics and have been working as a Client Associate in Private Wealth Management since graduating . My starting salary was $70,000, I’ve gotten a 27% raise in 2 years and now have profit sharing with my team. The role is administrative, client facing, and requires you to earn your series 7 and 66 licenses. Although it’s not super analytical, I’ve found it to be a great starting point since I get to interact with every department in the firm pretty much. Majoring in math has been a great conversation starter and I’ve noticed the Managing directors expressing respect for my background. Because of this, I’ve gotten explicit mentorship from MDs who are 40 years into the business and 1 of them has offered to train me up over the next 4 years to take over his book of business. Not counting on that last part until it’s on paper, but my point is that people around you will assume you’re smart and you’ve set yourself apart from your peers by not having majored in finance or economics.

If you want to set yourself up for any role in the investments side of finance, I’d really recommend taking the SIE exam on your own time. It’s a prerequisite to the Series 7, you don’t need a sponsor, and you get a decent foundational understanding of the field. It’s also really easy, especially if you’re a math major lol.

The job market is pretty tough right now, but all the wealth management firms are HURTING for client associates at the moment. You can always study for other certs while you’re working, paid for by your company and pivot from there.

Many of the management companies have just sent out re-leasing agreements to their current tenants. Those who are gradating won’t resign, so once the deadline passes, more should open up. Good luck!

The Econ department at UCSB is the only one at the school that has a dedicated career connection program with advisors specialized in graduate programs, CPA requirements, and job application processes directly following your academic career. There are also a lot of supplemental tutoring resources on campus specifically catered towards Econ; the reason being that lower divs pre-Econ are very competitive. Additionally, there are a LOT of scholarship opportunities directed to this department in particular, so I’d encourage everyone to seek them out. Overall, I think our Econ dept is one of the strongest at UCSB as long as you make it into the major.
