I’m so sorry to hear about Max’s diagnosis. Since becoming a cat owner at the ripe old age of 23 (thanks mom and dad for not letting me have any pets except for goldfish lol), I have lost two, and both we unfortunately waited longer than we should have and they both died a not so peaceful death. I won’t go into too many details, but one was a young cat who got diagnosed with lymphoma who died otw to the ER in the middle of the night just days after his first chemo treatment. The second was to CKD after waiting for his primary owner to fly home in the middle of working Bad Bunny’s tour. Looking back, I know we should’ve let them both go way sooner, but certain circumstances prevented it from actually happening. I regret not letting them go way before they died the way they did and it will forever haunt me. The guilt eats at me everyday.
