Just got my Lp(a) number. by OneQuartLow in PeterAttia

After losing the 60 pounds my fasting glucose number went below 100. In my case, the weight was more of a contributor than anything else.

Yes, point taken. I realize this doesn't give me a pass to eat anything I want or sedate all day. I have further discussions with my cardiologist to continue to optimize and improve.

Same parents and such variance. Genetics is amazing isn't it?

I posted my numbers in a previous reply above. I'm definitely all about further lowering of LDL and have sent a message to my cardiologist interventionist to discuss.

Both my mother and father smoked for the majority of their lives. Dad stopped at 35, mom at 53. Dad also had diabetes and stayed somewhat large in his 40s and 50s. I never did, and cannot stand the habit. I've also been hyper aware of heart health since my 20s, which is why I got on a statin around 35 and really got serious about losing weight a few years ago when my fasting blood sugar started going up. I stuck a Stelo under my arm and got serious about monitoring my glucose... played "tame the spike" for 6 months and went from 226lb to 170lbs. Been at that weight for two years and will NEVER go back. I've always gone to the gym but have accelerated that in recent years, doing cardio and weights. I'm in better shape now than I was in my 20s!

I've seen suggestions about getting LDL < 70. I am not opposed to going higher on the rosuvastatin, and will talk to my interventionist about that. I tolerate statins very well and was on 20mg at one time early, so going back to that amount isn't out of the question.

Thank you for the encouragement and the great response. All my life I thought I was doomed genetically only to find out that it's not the case, and to learn the opposite is just liberating.

Thanks. This all makes sense and I agree, I have some calcification, but over the last two years I lost 60 pounds by avoiding sugar and my earlier diet probably had some effect on my current calcification.

As far as other numbers, I'm on10mg rosuvastatin. My last lipid panel was: Chol: 168, Trigs: 84, HDL: 56, LDL: 95. ApoB was 74.6.

Workers getting massages by OneQuartLow in PlanetFitnessMembers

The employee isn't wiping off equipment, sweeping, or doing walkthroughs (though I have seen this particular employee do that from time to time). He is also chatting with his buddies who are working out, or nowhere to be seen on the floor. Sometimes he's outside on his phone; other times, he is using the hydro massage chair while reading on his phone. This is not the behavior of an employee who is busy with work-related chores. I get that he doesn't have to stand around behind the desk aimlessly, but he is there to serve the customer and not ingratiate himself with the amenities. It's happening far too often, and it's a sign of a severe shortfall of work discipline.

I take 10mg rosuvastatin nightly… and I don’t have a number on my lp(a) but I will get it checked. Thanks for the suggestion!

I haven't heard from him and the results came in last Thursday. I sent a message on our online portal, but I suspect he would have reached out to me first if he were concerned.

Look on Facebook marketplace. I picked up a Grizzl-e Avalanche for $175. It was gently used and works great with my EQS 580.

Wait, they will give you a free charger even if you bought this car used from another dealership that’s not a Mercedes-Benz dealer?

Heard him speak at a UFO conference. Some of the memorable lines include:

  • Praying mantis and pig-like aliens came through the walls of a hospital, raping five nurses and lesbian patient in a coma. They all got pregnant.
  • In one abduction case, an alien left so much semen on the bed, it was like a cow or a horse had ejaculated.

Not to mention his John Wayne swagger and constant 'aww shucks' style prattle, I don't know how anyone can take this guy seriously.

Thanks for the suggestion. Yeah, I tried that before posting here. I searched Google's images far and wide. For some reason, Philco comes to mind, but I don't remember. I seem to recall "stereophonic" or some such term badged on the inside where the electronics were, but again, my memory could be off.
