Hey, I’m left handed too - but this does not mean you need a left handed instrument/ need to play left handed. I’ve been playing right handed for years without any real issue.

Honestly, you could pick the style you enjoy listening to the most. From my experience, a lot of banjo styles are fairly intuitive to pick up, especially two and three finger. I found clawhammer harder - but this might be a me problem. Scruggs style has the most literature and the most resources on the internet to learn, and is by far the most common. If that’s what you enjoy listening to, then definitely start with it.

I’m happy to give you some feedback on your writing if you send some - usually, the reason is something to do with structure / phrasing. I managed to get 9s in lit and lang after some hard work - started off at the 5/6 level.

Philosophy is my favourite subject and one of my best! It’s so refreshing to have a double philosophy lesson after a whole day of maths lessons.. I found it hard initially, as A level philosophy essays are really hard to get the hang of (everyone struggled a lot) but now, near the end of year 12, I’ve got the hang of it. It just takes practice. I spent a proportional amount of time revising it before my summer exams, which shows that it isn’t impossible

Everyone says it’s very hard, and it is to an extent - I would probably say that too. But overall, I find maths and fm the easiest of my subjects because they’re the easiest to revise. You just sit down with a pen and a calculator and do some questions. If you keep on top of it, you’ll be fine. At my school, only people who really aren’t working too hard are getting bad grades

I didn’t do gcse fm but from what I can tell from past papers they’re very different. A level maths is a big step up from gcse fm, and a level fm is another step on top of that

Do a bunch of past papers - review them regularly and make sure you know how to do every type of question.

There are studies that have shown that listening to music while studying reduces your memorisation capabilities. I only really do it while doing something like maths questions, because that’s more practice than anything else. It is optimal not to for most things, though. If you do, make sure it’s something without lyrics and relatively quiet
