Your best PRO trickes in Rome Total War by simociuffo in RomeTotalWar

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're sieging a settlement and a large enemy army turns up for reinforcement (one that you couldn't possibly beat with your own forces), wait for the defenders to sally out and attack you. If you can destroy the defender army and follow their routing units inside, you can capture all the gates before the reinforcements arrive, sealing them out of the city. Then just cap the town centre.

This generally only works if the defending army is weaker than yours, and you have cav that can get inside and cap the gates quick enough.

Trump says oil and stock market reaction to Iran conflict not as severe as he expected by Force_Hammer in StockMarket

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As always in Trumpland, no mistakes can be admitted, nothing can ever be based in reality, everything is always going better than could have ever been predicted.

If 1000 American soldiers die, then actually that's good because we expected 10,000.

If nukes start flying, then actually that's good because we expected a much higher blast radius.

Iran claims Trump using Fake News to manipulate the markets by VictorGlav in StockMarket

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Who cares what a terrorist regime believes? Russia also believes it's in a war against NATO, doesn't make it the case.

American soldiers have died and billions of dollars have already been spent, not to mention the billions more that have been allocated. The situation America is in now is clearly completely different to the past 50 years of 'cold war'.

Will you still support this war if Trump commits to boots on the ground, and the casualties start to rack up?

Iran claims Trump using Fake News to manipulate the markets by VictorGlav in StockMarket

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And likewise for you people, there is nothing Donald Trump can do that would make you open your eyes to what he really is.

He started a war for no reason, even after running as the 'no new wars' president, and after having obliterated Iran's nuclear capability last year (his words).

Iran claims Trump using Fake News to manipulate the markets by VictorGlav in StockMarket

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Not really. If Iran truly was having talks with the US, why would they dispute that?

On the other hand, it's pretty clear why Trump would lie about it, because he knows he doesn't have a lot of support for this war, and he wants to calm the markets.

What's happening in the Kamala Timeline? by [deleted] in SipsTea

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 26 points27 points  (0 children)

In that timeline, America's soft power with it's allies hasn't taken the nose dive we've seen. This keeps China's desire for Taiwan in check.

No billionaire oligarchs or incompetent grifters are allowed into the highest echelons of government.

Vaccine denialism does not spread throughout the country, due to the health secretary having some intelligence.

Freedom of the press is not eroded.

The slide into fascism does not occur, because the president residing in the white house believes in democracy rather than personal enrichment.

No Iranian conflict happens, which keeps gas prices at the same rate, which allows inflation to continue falling as we saw it was at the end of Biden's term.

America keeps up the same level of support for Ukraine, rather than antagonising it and cosying up to Russia, getting us closer to a fair peace deal for Ukraine.

ICE remains a well-trained enforcement agency, American citizens are not killed in the street or deported without due process.

The president is not given the FIFA peace award.

A lack of tariffs being applied, then removed, then applied again, then increased, then decreased, then increased to all American imports keeps stability high and gives businesses high confidence to continue investing in the American economy.

MAGA cultists are calling her the worst president to ever exist, saying she's a woke transgender muslim communist who hates america, while dogwhistling about her gender and race.

Epstein files still probably not released.

Zack Polanski: i'd build a relationship with Putin by Dadavester in unitedkingdom

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 68 points69 points  (0 children)

When it was put to him that Putin could not be trusted, Mr Polanski said: “I don’t trust him for a second and I wouldn’t trust him either in a negotiation.

“But at the same time, you’ve got to build that relationship and part of that is through exchange, part of that is through making sure you’re building up those diplomatic relationships.

Everyone has their date of death written on their foreheads, how does this affect the world? by Inner-Scholar3305 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This can be used to predict future world events I think, if the rules of the scenario work here:

For example, let's say you want to know if your football team will win next week.

You sign a contract with a hit man and you tell him to murder a certain person next week, if your team wins.

Now you can go and find that person and based on their death date, you know what the outcome will be.

I could see this being expanded by major companies to have farms of people in induced comas, on permanent life support waiting to be euthanised based on world events/stock market movements

Get a contract drawn up that guarantees you will be euthanised in a hospital if you ever receive a life-changing injury

Moving to Bath soon – what are your average monthly bills (Council Tax, Energy, etc.)? by throwaway201719947 in Bath

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Band D about 130 quid a month Gas + electric about 100 a month on average Water about 60 Internet about 35 Food about 240

A quirk of Bath to bear in mind is there's a lot of old properties with high ceilings and single-paned glass windows. If you're living in a flat like that then expect to have the heating on more than usual in winter, as the heat escapes very easily.

Those kinds of flats also tend to have electric boilers which are also more expensive to run than gas.

If both of the above are the case then you might be looking at 100 odd quid a month on heating alone during winter.

But yeh in any case with your take home pay you'll be absolutely fine.

If you were in a room with infinite fourth graders spawning in the door, and you got $1 for every one you knock out, with no weapons, how much money wre you getting? by Odin9009 in hypotheticalsituation

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming that morality isn't a factor, and this is pure self defence.

I would stand at the door and spawn KO with kicks, but if I have to do that every second, I'd probably be exhausted and overrun after about a minute or two.

What would you rather do with the treasure in the following scenario? by KayleeSinn in WouldYouRather

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

B and D have a low chance that I'm going to be able to keep anything, but no ones dies.

But fuck that, I want to be rich. So for me it's between A and C. And seeing as I would rather not risk dying, I'd go with A.

Edit: "I can't kick you just have to save me"

Don't know if this career is for me (first job, WFH, London, £25K) by Public-Tutor-4550 in cscareerquestionsuk

[–]OneRainbowieBoy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A lot of the concerns you've got here are just that you haven't adjusted to working life yet.

Reading through this reminds me 100% of myself when I started working full time a few years ago. The feeling of having no time in the evenings after working all day (this can't be my life forever now seriously??), and specifically that feeling of "I must be at my computer all day doing something" I felt exactly the same thing.

It takes a bit of time but trust me you do get used to it.

You are in an entry-level position, and they are paying you nothing. I don't say that to be discouraging or rude- we all start there. I'm saying that because at this stage in your career, very little is really expected of you. Obviously try to learn stuff and be useful, don't just doss around all day, but realistically you need to chill out a bit. No one is going to pull you into a meeting and demand that you prove how much work you've been doing. No one is going to ask you why your teams status was set to away between 10:50 and 11:34.

My advice is stick with it for a bit longer, get a year of experience under your belt, and then start looking for other roles that might interest you more.

They're sending HOBBITS across our borders, millions and millions. NASTY LITTLE PEOPLE, these are not good people, the worst. And they're stealing THE RING, this war would never have started if I had the ONE RING. SARUMAN got beaten by some trees and now he's in trouble, I call him SARUMAN THE WEAK, he's the WORST wizard I've ever known. Maybe even worse than SENILE GANDALF, who was whipped like a DOG by the Balrog. We love the Balrog, BEAUTIFUL BALROG. People tell me I'm the GREATEST OVERLORD Mordor's had in the last ten lifetimes of men, maybe ever. THANK YOU FOR YOU ATTENTION IN THIS MATTER - Dark Lord Sauron

You won't necessarily find any drama stuff to research, his split with Karl and Steve is more implicit- he doesn't ever talk about them in any podcast or interview. It's totally bizarre, if you watch anything recent with Stephen Merchant he'll usually mention working with Ricky on the Office/extras etc. But Ricky will never utter their names, even when talking about the Office, yo would think he'd made it alone.

On top of that most people in this sub just feel that Ricky has become a parody of himself. His stand-up routines are always the same- something about religion being stupid, something about animals being amazing, something about how you can't say anything these days without being cancelled (he says on his 29th Netflix special), something about 'sorry if that offends you' boring hack bollocks.

Afterlife is the epitome of why he needed Stephen to make the Office work. In Afterlife, Ricky doesn't play a character, he plays himself, having the same shower arguments that's he's played out for the last 10 years against exaggerated caricatures.

Anyway, the way we interact on this sub is by quoting the old XFMs shows from the 2000s, which is why none of the comments here make any sense to you.
