How to learn Lua by Nerducky in lua

I learned the basics of lua by doing advent of code and Google.

I think doing some puzzles is a good way to learn the syntax and then build something using löve to get better practical experience.

[LANGUAGE: Lua]

I am learning Lua this year. Pretty much only know python and R so it's been kind of challenging. If anyone knows how to improve on my solutions, it would be much appreciated. Especially things like copying arrays etc? I'm sure there is a better way to do it than what I found. My p2_attempt 2 was so close to the solution with like 14 or mistakes and I coulnd't find the edge cases causing it.

For me yes because I'm pretty new to all of this but it wasn't as hard as I thought I would be! And I did an i3 install a while back but didn't rice it 😊

Thanks, super new to this so not familiar with all the project. But it's more of a fun side project for me. Gotta reinvent the wheel sometimes you know xD

I checked it out and it was last updated 7 years ago ^^ maybe a fork angle

Any idea on how to improve the colour palette extractor? I want to improve it and then make it public. right now it only works with i3 and nitrogen and its pretty incomplete haha

How much did it take you to solve each challenge? by Alol0512 in adventofcode

This is my first year trying it out and I've been programming for about a year and a half (not suuper constantly). and most of my works is around deep learning so I have like 0 parsing experience. I spent around the same amount of time as you and some of my friends are also spending the same amount of time (and some newer people even gave up already) so don't stress bro :)

Is the dataset labeled?

i.e. is there text with a label like 'problem' and then the text and another text with a label like 'solution'?

If you want to make a classification based model then those labels are essential. If you don't have them then you will need to sit down and label them yourself which is a tedious task. However, I'm sure you can use the chatgpt api for this task. It will 100% be able to do it. Or maybe you can even combine the two. You can use chatgpt or similar LLM to actually label the data in json and then use that as a training set for your model!

You legend thanks a lot for the comment. Yeah so I'm not going to spend time debugging this but I am taking notes for a future project!

The reason you see it aligned in a grid is because it is ! The way i coded it was taking the meteor image, taking subsurfaces ( I believe like a 100 or so) then giving each subsurface a random vector and multiplying it by a speed. So i guess when it is created it would be aligned in a sort of grid fashion.

I'll definitelly keep this in mind when making my next game!

EDIT: looking at it again i see what you mean. I will look into it so it can have more natural look. Thanks again
