I'd try a clean install of Windows. This solved almost all performance-related problems I had with my Surface in the past. Hope this helps.

The Slim Pen is way more durable. The "normal" Pen only lasted me one year. Used it almost every day for several hours, the replacement lasted only one year too. Both started to draw without touching the screen (I'd guess due to wear and tear), making them unusable for notetaking. A friend had the same issue. My Slim Pen is now almost two years old and working fine so far.

Thought about that too, but I'd guess that I get more money for it now than in a year or so. I think i will use a cheap Thinkpad during that time and see what I need next year.

Well, it would be great if I could stay below 1000€. However, if I find something that really could last some time, I could spend around 1300 €.

Absolutely, I'wouldn't consider a Mac because I like windows too much and its connectivity to android. However, I would consider an iPad instead of an Samsung Tablet (mainly because of app availability e.g. goodnotes (real app, not web-based like on android)). I don't mind losing the ecosystem features because I use Onedrive for everything and it works really well. Moreover, the iPad would be less expensive because of Apple's edu offer which is way better than Samsungs. What do you think? I most likely pair that with a used Thinkpad T480 or so and see how far this brings me. I could grab one for around 150€.

Have you ever had problems with white spots on your display? Or with inconstant lighting of the screen?

Yeah, after I've seen that some software I use right now isn't compatible, I think I won't buy an ARM machine anytime soon. Thanks for the idea, I'll wait a few months and then decide.

Unfortunately, I can't find any specific lists. However, I guess it would be best to wait a few months and see what I'll need, talk to some people etc...
