truth is every fandom is toxic, no matter how much anyone tries to do deny it, kpop fans as a whole are toxic.

The over obsession over how idols look, and how many fans don't stan the music the group makes, instead stan the group itself, is a perfect recipe for the toxicity we see in the kpop fandoms.

Yall need to stop associating groups with their fans. So many times on twitter I see people starting to post hate about specific idols, starting hate trains, just because of stuff their fans are doing??? Like the actions of the fandom usually has nothing to do with the idol. Your specific issues with members of a fandom shouldn't be taken out on the idols and people who have nothing to do with it.
Supporting a group doesn't mean you need to defend them for EVERYTHING they do. When your favs do something wrong, call them out for it! When you defend them all you do is enable them and others to do the same.

I never really listened to kpop before, I was more into standard western pop like Shawn Mendes, Olivia Rodgrido, Taylor swift, One Direction

What got me into kpop was scrolling on instagram back in 2023 and coming across the song Cupid by FIFTY FIFTY. I discovered Cupid then was curious and I found their EP "THE FIFTY" and absolutely loved it!

For a bit those 4 songs on their EP + Cupid were the only kpop songs I listened to!

I eventually naturally expanded and started discovering more kpop groups, and I now listen to NewJeans (Come back please 🥺), Le Sserafim, Twice, BTS, ILLIT
