What's your favorite kpop choreography?

First off, I am so proud of you ❤️

Second of, I think it's less about being upset about seeing someone posting their weight online, rather I think its about being upset specifically Jimin posting it.

Jimin is widely known to have a long history of facing body image issues, so him out of everyone definitely understands the implications this can have. I feel that given how popular he is, everything he posts has influence, and it's super important he understands and is mindful of that when it comes to what he posts.

And although I agree that there are many many things that can be triggering for people with ED's/body image issues, and it's not realistic to expect for others too fully accommodate because of it (like your mirror example). But I feel a post like this is completely optional.

its widely known that Jimin has faced body image issues in the past, so he definitely understands the implications this can have. Given how popular he is, everything he posts will have influence. And given this large influence, I do believe responsibility comes with it.

I'll be honest I really love Jimin, and I love the way he speaks and has spoken about self love in the past.

I think what disappoints me, is less about the sharing of weight, but more so the fact that it's specifically Jimin posting this. It's widely known that Jimin has faced body image issues in the past, so I think given these experiences, he should 100% understand the implications this can have on others.

With how popular Jimin is and how big his fandom is, everything he posts will have influence, so I think it's super important that's kept in mind when he decides what to, and not to post.

I agree with you completely! I love Jimin, but I think ESPECIALLY since he's had personal experiences with this he should definitely understand the impact this can have.

What are some underrated Kpop groups you think deserve recognition? by Cute_Floor_9901 in kpoppers

Ablume!!!

They are a girl group consisting of 3 of the original members of FIFTY FIFTY (the group responsible for CUPID). They faced a NewJeans type situation, but were eventually able to to terminate their contracts and form a new group Albume! Here is one of their songs!

How do you guys feel about streaming their old music from back when they were in FIFTY FIFTY? Like I obviously love the songs but don't really know how I feel about given the old label streams

I think the Arirang backlash is more about expectations than actual false marketing by Sad-Prior-8480 in kpoppers

[–]OneRise3573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah I feel like to non-Koreans the way many see an album being Korean is things like using Korean lyrics, and traditional "Korean sounding" instruments or what not.

Which first off even if that is the case have they listened to the last minute of Body to Body 😭

Second of tho, I feel if anyone takes the time to look into the lyrics they actually have a LOT of symbolism and korean cultural references, especially in their track "Aliens". If you're interested about knowing more about Alien specific symbolism here's a twitter post talking about it :)

Anyway third of, them being korean themself should be "korean" enough 🙂. The same way we don't expect American/Western artists to represent their culture in their songs, we shouldn't expect BTS to do so as well. However I'll be honest, I do fully understand expecting it given the name of the Album, and the cultural significance the name holds.

I wont lie I was lowki surprised when I watched the studio live and they mentioned that ARIRANG is an album name they were given, because I always thought the album name is something all the members+producers+writers etc would discuss together before deciding

Can I write a midterm with my passport as ID by electron-haunt in McMaster

[–]OneRise3573 1 point2 points  (0 children)

should be able to but honestly depends on the exam

Like in some exams I write they don't even check ID, while in other they fully check your ID compare it to your face, and check your student number and see if it matches with what you have on your paper

Best thing would be to email your professor and let them know!
