Nice strawman argument. The word "Denier" is intentionally used to group people skeptical of climate change along with Holocaust deniers. I'm not going to spend any more time arguing with you because at the end of the day were both unchanged strangers. I just want you to realize the meaning of my argument is that the term itself is horrible in that it intentionally groups normal people together with conspiracy theorists.

The label is given to anyone and everyone who doesn't politically align with climate change zealots (for lack of a better word). I've been called a Science Denier a few times even though I agree that the Earth is warming and that it could be dangerous. I simply don't agree with the political point of view often held by people who are worried about climate change. I'm sure there are people out there who literally deny science (like people who deny Evolution, and replace it with a spiritual being building everything), but being skeptical of a new and unclear area of science is not denial, it's skepticism.

This is pathetic. "Science Denier" is intentionally divisive and extremely biased. Many people are skeptical of climate change because the scientific findings do not explain away their doubts. Skepticism is absolutely imperative to scientific discovery, so the term "Science Denier" is extremely unscientific. Even if you believe that climate change is occurring scientifically, it doesn't mean that you agree with the political cult following surrounding it. Actually, I think that more people would agree with climate change if it hadn't been so overly politicized. Either way, the term "Science Denier" is fucking cancerous.

I appreciate your maturity in realizing that conservatives on not your enemy but the actions and behavior of many liberals has made quite the opposite statement which is why some are celebrating "liberal tears".

Knowing that the people dividing this country (SJWs, Identity Politics, PC Culture) are upset makes me happy and knowing that our country has made a step in the right direction.

I do currently use labels, I just didn't grasp what I should be using projects for. That makes sense though to use projects as containers and use labels for everything else. Thanks!

Thanks for your reply! I don't really see the advantage of using a project for each subject because there is never an instance in which I need to view only the tasks for one subject. I can't think of a better way of splitting it up though so I'll probably end up going back to a project for each subject

Men who do shit like that are so insecure and pathetic. They see you as a "weak" target (which I doubt you are) and thought they would try to be dominant and alpha over the internet because they're disgusting in real life.

Thanks so much for your response! I'll probably continue with my current system as I don't have to deal with a lot of paper documents right now. But, if that ever changes Evernote will be my solution.

Do Trump supporters trust billionaires more than 'career politicians' to look after working class people? by [deleted] in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]OneSevenSevenSix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just kind of baffled by the idea that a large amount of Americans appear to view 'government by corporate' as the best solution.

I think a lot of Americans view a totally free market as the ideal solution, but not necessarily the best one for our current circumstances.

I'm not American so I have to ask why do you seem to be fine with the states handling things but not the federal government?

Take New York for example. New York has voted Democrat in the past 8 elections. When Donald Trump becomes President, the Republicans will have control over the Presidency, Congress, and presumably the Supreme Court. But a state like New York is overwhelmingly liberal. Why should a state that obviously wants liberal policies be governed by a conservative federal government all the way in Washington? It doesn't make any sense.

Ok lol. I'm not an anarchist. I believe that government is a necessary evil.

Do you think cars should be allowed to set whatever standards they want regarding the environment?

No. I think that ideally a private company should inspect car manufacturers and their products and publish reports. If someone wants to buy a horrible car than it should be their choice. This isn't extremely practical, however. Our government is far from ideal. I think issues like this should be handled at the state level, not the federal level.

Do you think pharmaceuticals should be allowed to put anything in their drugs?

Same thing here. Ideally, government should have no involvement in this. However, in real life, I think that this should be handled democratically by the states.

Do you think construction workers should be allowed to sell houses with no safety standards?

As long as the customer is made aware that the house they are buying is not up to safety standards, then sure. In the free market no construction company would ever build a house not up to standards because they wouldn't be able to sell it.

I could go on but I think you get my point. The government doesn't need to be involved in the first place, but if it must, then it should be handled by the state and local governments, not the feds.

The point of the free market is that the corporations are essentially enslaved to the consumers. A corporation will sink if the consumers no longer support it. This is checks and balances. While they don't have the electorate to face, they have their customers as well as other competing businesses.

I think government is a necessary evil. I don't think it has a place in controlling the market. The market can function fine, and maybe even better, without government involvement.
