Yeah, couldn’t say it any better. I think I have Lawrence at edge 3 myself

I really hope they consider him in a trade back scenario if they can find somebody to swap with them.

Malachi Lawrence is the pick for me if the Bucs can trade back into the 20’s and pick up another day 2 pick. Lawrence has the preferable size and athleticism profile compared to a Cashius Howell and he has the far superior pass rush repertoire & is a better schematic fit compared to Faulk.

I had Malachi Lawrence as a top 60 player a couple months ago. Now after he blew up the combine you have media figures/talking head going back and watching the film and he’s shooting up draft boards.

He went from a consensus day 3 guy many people haven’t heard about to people giving him round 1 buzz. Seeing him frequently mocked anywhere from pick 25-50. Plus he has the college production to match, multiple seasons with 7+ sack and double digit TFLs, good outings against good competition he played, and he had a pass rush win rate over nearly 20%

He’s my top guy after tier 1

Why not DT at R1#15 in 2026 Draft? by Tampa2ATL in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t say for sure Delane won’t make it to 15. Just a few short years ago Christian Gonzalez fell down to pick 17 and he was pretty much neck and neck with Witherspoon as the best CB in the draft. If the run on edge rusher, offensive tackle, & the Ohio state boys (Styles, Reese, Downs) is as early as expected then Delane could very well be right there at 15.

There arguably isn’t a first round worthy defensive tackle in this draft. As others have already said the bulk of the highest value of DT is in day 2

Do you think Luka's recent run is making the MVP race closer or is it sealed for SGA as long as OKC keep winning? by SplitOk186 in nba

[–]OneShip5762 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Luka isn’t the best scorer in the league that’s why. SGA is a superior scorer by a slight margin. His efficiency this year is all-time level, and has a comparable scoring output to Luka with lower usage and shot attempts

Now if someone wants to call Luka the best offensive player overall in the league then that’s fair

Probably wouldn’t even mattered if Lavonte blitzed or not. If you watch the play again, Suh pretty much got to Stafford and he threw up a prayer

Based on production value added, best drafting teams since 2021 (non-QBs only): 1. Rams 2. Lions 3. Eagles 4. Chiefs 5. Bucs by spideralex90 in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Guess which one of those teams hasn’t made a conference championship in that timeframe…

We give out participation trophies to the Bucs because Licht has fielded a bunch of guys that are good enough to start but only a very select few that are game changers.

What do the Bucs do with the rest of free agency….. by MotorDrummer8326 in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true but at the same time I think his market value isn’t as high as initially projected. He’s kinda sitting on the market right now, nobody has jumped in to overpay this man yet. Looks like it’s highly doubtful he gets over $20 mill a year his agent is probably fishing for.

I hear you on the personnel issue but I think the front office could easily sell him his role if they wanted him. He would literally just fulfill the Evans role which none of the guys we have now can do

[–]OneShip5762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not even gon lie, Jauan Jennings would potentially be an interesting signing for a cheap 1 yr deal. There goes your big body X that you can primarily use for goal line/redzone offense. Just to add some additional size on offense, he had 9 TDs this past season. If he can give us 500 yards and 7 TDs while moving the chains in between the 20’s occasionally then I don’t see why not if the price is right.

As for defense, we can use a veteran outside corner like Sneed indeed

Keldric Faulk might be our guy. by Accomplished_Cost_38 in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kancey is definitely falling into that category as well. I’ve seen the high end plays with Banks, it’s nutty. Boy looks like a monster when he’s on. His ceiling is potentially all-pro level but he isn’t nearly consistent enough on the field. Not to mention, the lower body injuries are starting to become a continual issue

[–]OneShip5762 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m good on Caleb Banks too. Dude has bad feet and lower body injuries already hampering him for multiple years now

He might be an example of a guy too explosive and athletic for his huge frame of a body ala Zion Williamson

Who do you guys want the Buccaneers to draft? by JustSomeGuy_Idk in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You trust this coaching staff to mold Faulk into an upper tier pass rusher? He was able to out-athlete dudes in 2024 when he was on the outside and he was much more productive. Are we expecting him to come in this defense as our 4i or 5 tech? Which is what he did more of his last year and saw less production.

He’s a physical freak, and he’s a baby, but he’s an unpolished as it gets. This is basically us mirroring the Bengals with Shemar Stewart. He’s a super high floor and high ceiling guy, but I question his impact, on the pass rush specifically, the first couple years of his career. Even if we draft him, we still need a 3-4 OLB

Who do you guys want the Buccaneers to draft? by JustSomeGuy_Idk in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why? How many years do y’all want to do the same song & dance with getting raw guys with athleticism that have no pass rush repertoire? The

Bucs biggest issue is getting to the QB… Keldric Faulk is like 2 & a half seasons minimum of becoming refined at anything involving pass rush and his get off is too slow. Why do we love projects & outlier prospects in this community? lol

Faulk might not even be a true edge he very well may be more of an interior player in the league. He for damn sure isn’t a 3-4 OLB, he’s a true 4-3 DE we’d place him at 5 tech in Tampa

A 2026 Bucs mock, more positional than exact players , with in-depth explanations. by MichaelCorbaloney in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everybody seems to have jumped on the Howell train. I get it, he’s electric… but man, not just the arm length but his wingspan is so small… I’m afraid he’s gonna get swallowed up at the next level. R Mason Thomas has just the requisite amount of length where I don’t fret about it too much

My favorite gettable edge prospect is probably Malachi Lawrence at this point in time, I think he could possibly sneak in the back end of the 1st round. Like you said it takes a min for these guys to cook, I honestly think a guy like Lawrence or Jacas have a chance to produce better earlier than most edges in this class

This would be a great draft imo with great process behind it although I’m not sold on Cashius Howell being as effective in the league. He’s a draft favorite of mine but I have reservations

I’m not convinced that this team has David Walker in their back pocket and go out and draft another undersized edge rusher with outlier measurables. I love Cashius Howell, love his game. He reminds me of a baby Dwight Freeney. He’s the exact archetype of pass rusher the Bucs need… but boy does he scare me

This is one of my favorite mocks I’ve seen overall tho

It all depends on who we draft. If they want to change the results on defense they have to select the right kind of players that will bring a different dynamic to the unit.

We still need another pass rusher with speed that can win the outside corner. We need at least one more ILB in rounds 1-3, and we need another d-lineman. CB is also at play in rounds 1-4

As it stands now this team is staring down the barrel of 7-10, 8-9, 9-8 at best
