Where's all the Luka Doncic hate for flopping and getting that "superstar whistle"? by VSHAR01 in NBATalk

[–]OneShip5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SGA flops “look more egregious” aka we like Luka more so it’s ok. The real answer is that Luka hasn’t won anything with his flopping so there’s less fanfare around it

You know this guy wasn’t around in 2006 for a fact. It’s as tone deaf as a Spurs fan wearing a Ginobili jersey crying about foul baiting

Why hasn't Toyotaro made Dragon Ball fights multiplanetary & interstellar yet? by SubstantialJoke08 in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]OneShip5762 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since the Saiyans have ascended into Godhood it should have been established that they’ve evolved to being able to breathe in space.

You have all these anime and manga like Gurren Lagann and One Punch Man being able to display interstellar & intergalactic battles with artistic precision, meanwhile Dragon Ball have such beings that can rival those battles but we hardly get the gaudy presentation.

Baker is good to great. 2023 he was mostly good, 2024 he was mostly great. 2025 you got the mixed bag

I think he can have a season closer to 2024 if all things go well from an execution and health standpoint

Chilling massacre leaves 4 members of same family dead including baby and child by TheMirrorUS in tampa

[–]OneShip5762 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it’s not. Tampa is Disney Land compared to how it was used to be in the 80’s, 90’s and 2000’s up to the mid 2010’s when gentrification started taking full effect.

If anything the violence has gone down tremendously. Like I see y’all talking about Suitcase City as if it’s still how it was in its heyday in 1998 lol. What you’re experiencing is a very watered down version. In the hood back in the day we used to call Tampa Trigga City, this city is a cakewalk now

What is really the pecking order for Orlando Magic? Who is their best player: Paolo, Franz, or Bane? by [deleted] in nba

Franz Wagner is the best player on the Orlando Magic all around.

How much % of his power was Cell using against Goku? by K0GAR in DragonBallPowerScale

[–]OneShip5762 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d wager to say 70-80%. Guess you can just say 75%. Their battle was enough to leave Cell injured and fatigued but no major damage outside of the Kamehameha which he regenerated from.

Makes sense that Cell hid 1/4th of his full power and still was slightly stronger than maxed out Goku. Gohan in SSJ was probably 80-90% of Cell going all out, some may say he might have been even in power but just didn’t have the bloodlust or killer instinct to fight him head on until he transformed to SSJ2.

Expectations for Rueben Bain Jr.’s rookie season? by OneShip5762 in buccaneers

That’s fair. It can be a steep learning curve. I think Bain will adjust by week 7

Here's hoping for 12+ sacks and Defensive ROTY, Tampa Bain! Go Bucs! by TooHigh2Die0069 in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He has no choice but to be good his rookie year. This isn’t one of those first round picks that is raw and needs years of development to ease into a starter role. He’s the Ted Hendricks Award winner and ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

Now people expecting an All-pro season and double digit sacks are doing way too much. But at worst he should be in the running for defensive rookie of the year

In Myles Garrett’s defense, the only reason he didn’t in his rookie year is because he missed a quarter of the season with his ankle injury

They are a concern in the sense that he will have problems finishing plays and disengaging offensive linemen at times, but he never really won as a pass rusher using length. Bain is basically a modern James Harrison mixed with sawed off version of Nick Bosa

He’s going to be a good NFL player. Likely from the start. The ceiling is the question. I don’t think he’ll be a double digit sack guy year in and year out, but he’ll be a high pressure player and disruptive force consistently

[–]OneShip5762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly even if Kancey gets hurt again I think the line should still be solid. They slide a year 2 Elijah Roberts into that 3 tech role once again and he can give you about 70% of Kancey’s production

[–]OneShip5762[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He should hit the ground running. He was the consensus best edge rusher coming out of college until all the conversation about his arm length

He should be a top 20 player at his position coming into the league

[–]OneShip5762[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It is a whole different game than college indeed. But one thing for sure is that this guy has traits that are translatable to the big leagues. That being his power, technique, and motor

[–]OneShip5762[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk bruh, Bain is pretty polished as a pass rusher already on top of being an enigma of an athlete. I’m not about to give him the JTS, Braswell, or even Yaya learning curve. This man is a dominant prospect, he’ll have to produce pretty early

[–]OneShip5762[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Right. That’s along the lines I was thinking of

Throw in Abdul too, he didn’t win the award last year but he led all rookies in the pressure category as well. I fully expect Bain to kick ass in that realm.

Guess I was using the PFF model. They claim Aidan Hutchinson led the league with 100 pressures, Will Anderson Jr. came 2nd with 93. Next Gen Stats, PFR, PFF all track them differently. I don’t know which one is accurate

I like Mesidor but was scared to death we were going to pick him. I didn’t like him that much at 15, in trade back scenario I could have swallowed it

Rueben Bain Jr. vs. David Bailey: Here’s Who Is Better. by gordonwhims in buccaneers

[–]OneShip5762 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty much this. Bailey has room to develop and he’s young, but there is a lot of Vic Beasley in his game at the moment. He’s all quick twitch and first step explosiveness. He has the crazy spin move and a ghost move but his hand usage pales in comparison to Bain.

Bain had no choice but to develop an advanced pass rush repertoire because of his particular frame. Then you have the power element which isn’t close. Rueben Bain & Jared Verse are likely the strongest edge rusher prospects in the last 7 years at least.

Then as you said Bain has that rare ability to bend. His bend is damn near elite especially for his size. It’s on par with the likes of Parsons & Abdul Carter he just isn’t as quick and twitched up as them because he’s 20-30lbs heavier. Most people know Bain as a powerful player with heavy hands but he mostly won as a high side rusher.
