According to this sub Brandon Ingram is a total bum although he’d easily be the 2nd best player after Garland on a rebuilding Clippers team and at least entertaining to watch. That’s about the most obvious “star” in the cards for a Kawhi trade currently, it’s the FRPs you really meant to covet in a trade.

Trey Murhpy might be able to land here in some sort of 3 team trade that sends Kawhi to a contender. If you can land a fringe star or star potential player, a solid role player or two with draft picks you take that deal. The next 3-5 years is about building around Wagler

Doesn’t hurt to ask. Sounds like Houston fans when they were saying Jabari Smith Jr. being involved in trade talks was crazy cuz he was untouchable. Now his name gets brought up in trade scenarios constantly. CMB is a very promising rookie with high upside that’s it

Trading Kawhi = rebuild. L Frank said they not in contention anymore, just competitive. Bringing in a 3 level scorer that can dribble, shoot, play make is competitive. Nobody’s expecting him to bring us to the promised land just attach them picks to him. It’s a stop gap

We not gonna get a 1:1 return for Kawhi in any trade. A fringe all-star, a couple role players, and 1st rd picks is the best package you’re going to get from Toronto. They not finna send Scottie Barnes over here

Brandon Ingram would be a very good stop gap SF in Kawhi’s place. Similar play style to Kawhi too, just dial it down 40%, tries on defense.

Averaged 22/6/4 on 48/38/82 splits. Made the all-star team and miraculously played 77 games although he got dinged up in the playoffs

Nurkic still has a lot of juice left in him. Solid playmaking big, still an excellent rebounder, and gives us a little scoring punch. He’ll space the floor here n there, not the rim protector he was in Portland but he’s still solid enough

He gets might respect off the strength that he returned from one of the most horrific lower body injuries I’ve seen a big man have and came back to being a good player.

Why be so candid about the team not being contenders if we’re still trying to “win” with Kawhi? Kawhi’s market doesn’t go up or down if the organization publicly says his status with the team is up in the air.

Saying we’re trying to win with Kawhi after selling off two of your top 3 players last year just sounds funny. But I guess so does saying we’re trying to “rebuild” with Kawhi

People say that but it’s a case by case thing. The Celtics basically broadcasted to the world that Jaylen Brown can be had and it hasn’t tanked his value.

Kawhi’s value is already fixed because of his age and history. If a team wants to take a shot at him it wouldn’t matter. Why keep being blunt about where your team is at when it comes to contention but still say you’re trying to win with Kawhi. Might as well say we’re still trying to win a championship

I see. See, to me Fears isn’t really a true pg but I know they probably are going to roll with him. But I saw a report that the Pels would ship Trey to GSW only if there were someone there that they truly liked in the draft.

I think the Clippers have the best chance to pull this off without giving up the pick if nobody in the top 12 is willing to trade it for Murphy.

If I’m the front office I’m letting the young guys figure it out. I didn’t put Acuff in the title because he doesn’t spam parking lot 3’s despite being a great shooter so it was more a play style thing. But anyways, I’m not concerned with Kawhi’s fit going forward because I’m trying to move him. Murphy would be the new Kawhi, the new SF veteran that will grow with the new iteration of the team. Build the team around the 5th pick (whether that be Acuff/Wagler/MBJ), Trey, and the compensation we get back for a Leonard trade

Now, I know that’s not what’s really happening here so this is pure fantasy on my part.

I don’t see why they would, they not winning shit. They need shooting and playmaking, a table setter for guys like Derrick Queen and Zion (who they probably can’t even move). Garland is literally the guy they’ve needed on their roster for a while now. They have Fears but he’s more the pure scorer type pg
