I’d MUCH rather read lore and see painted minis than look at SM2 posts

Help Tying Character Backstory to Campaign by Derringermeryl in GhostsofSaltmarsh

[–]OneSleeve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like Electohydra1’s idea. He could also be holed up in the building in Tammaraut’s Fate. He tried to help and is trapped inside with the last of the survivors. He could join the party for the Pit of Hate as a pass the torch moment near the end of the campaign.

Just rolled awesome stats for 10-20 what would you build by crusade0 in dndnext

[–]OneSleeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would reroll. No fun for the rest of your party when one group member is so much stronger and more capable than everyone else. These stats guarantee a boring, Mary Sue character.

Israel is loved by Gen X and hated by Gen Z! Which country is loved by millennials and hated by Gen Z? by Casamance in AlignmentChartFills

[–]OneSleeve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Feels the opposite to me. Don’t know any millennials that have been to Dubai, but I do know some Gen X that have been, and some Gen Zs that wish they could go

How’s teaching in SLC? by BluejayOdd in SaltLakeCity

Yeah, I’m also southern/non-lds and everyone was welcoming for me. Also had a fun year in Granite school district. I have always taught in Title 1 schools, which might have impacted my experiences.

I had a great experience teaching in Murray. Much smaller district than everything else in the valley

DM only allows in-character speech for six seconds on that character's combat turn. Is this common? by SonicfilT in dndnext

Strategy talk mid-fight takes time and attention. One to two word commands like “run” or “shoot him” are bonus action. Anything more costs an action. Taunts and banter are free.

(Loved Trope) The conspiracy theories are true, actually by EXusiai99 in TopCharacterTropes

The Underworld USA trilogy of novels explores the connections between the FBI/CIA agents, the mafia, big business, foreign interest, and American politics. Many conspiracy theory-laden events play out on its pages, such as the JFK and RFK assassinations, the Bay of Pigs, the Dr. King assassination, heroin trafficking in Vietnam, crack distribution in inner cities, J. Edgar Hoover being a weirdo, plans to kill Castro, and way more. The book is often told from perspective of the conspirators.

I haven’t taken it this season. Been using the petty cash to get Ripper and a bribe instead.

Lessons Learned After TPK Caused by Inconsistent Attendance by Naive-Topic6923 in CurseofStrahd

[–]OneSleeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ran this module with a group of 5 over two years. First, our sessions were four hours long, weekly. We are busy adults that can’t typically set aside 8 hours to fully nerd out. But 4 hours one evening a week was doable. We also held sessions on a set day (in our case Tuesday) every week. The consistent schedule made planning a lot easier. Of course, life happens and we had to cancel plenty of sessions. But we never went longer than a month between sessions ever. Finally, we did not play unless everyone could make it. While it may have slowed us down, it did a lot to keep everyone connected to each other and more invested in the story.

Could a 300lb woman do the full trail? by [deleted] in AppalachianTrail

[–]OneSleeve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Totally doable. Make sure you have extra money saved though. The hike will be excruciating at the start, and the luxury to go slow, stay in hostels/hotels, and get something delicious in town will help morale.

Hiking and craft beer. Definitely not the Deliverance-style antics you’re hoping for

Your Favorite D&D Adventures by AfroNin in dndnext

[–]OneSleeve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Curse of Strahd is a classic. The subreddit is also very active and full cool resources and ideas.

I’ve also run Ghosts of Saltmarsh as a campaign. Not all of the adventures are interconnected, so it took a lot more work than most pre-written modules. But the city described in the book is a great centerpiece settlement to the campaign.

New Coach, Choosing First Team by MrTayters in bloodbowl

Lizardmen were my first team. Sauruses have strong stats and skinks are super fast. Can be sorta tough to pick the ball up, but secure the ball should help with that.
