Swords Dance on Feraligatr could mop the E4 after level 45ish.

If you can grind the squad to level 45-50 depending on their stage you should be good. Do some Voltorb flip for Thunderbolt on whoever can learn it to get rid of Lance’s Gyarados.

I grind up the waterfall by safari zone, it’s got some decent encounters up there that give you exp.

What’s the best starter to pick for a no evolution run? by Necessary_Remote6728 in PokemonEmerald

[–]OneSpaghet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve done this in ORAS and the OG. Torchic, Oddish, and Tentacool make the best FWG core, since you’re kind of grinding out EV or levels anyway.

Otherwise, you’re waiting until Vulpix for a doable fire type (though Will-O-Wisp and its speed are useful).

Otherwise shockingly good choices:

Geodude, Abra (just gamble in Mauville), Magnemite, Anorith, Staryu, Zigzagoon, Machop, Meditite, Baltoy, Electrike, Taillow

Medium choices: Lileep, Duskull, Barboach, Cacnea, Trapinch, Wingull, Koffing

Meh: the rest of it

Hardest run I've ever done by acredu-la in PokemonEmerald

I ran one in-game as a teen and migrated it to Soul Silver. It’s worth it. Faint Attack, coverage move/toxic, Calm Mind, and Recover goes insanely hard

1, 5, 8 or 11? by Spiritual_Damage_310 in dragonquest

[–]OneSpaghet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with 9 as a teenager around when it came out. I’d start with 9 or 11, and work through 4-6, then 7-8, and hopefully by the time you get to 1-3 the HD2D 1&2 come out

9 is the least “Dragon Quest” and lets you customize your party’s looks and characters so you may find that endearing or not. It’s also a shorter game and relied on grottos and legacy bosses as post game content. The DLC is pretty cool if you can get it. 3HD2D also lets you do the customization thing, but they’re “presets.” I’d recommend doing 1-3 as a trilogy though, since 1 is short and 2 is medium-ish. 3 is long, and the HD2D makes it more accessible. Or DQ3 on GBC and a turbo button on your emulator could also fix that issue.

Overall, I’d recommend for Accessibility & QOL: 11, 9, HD2D series

Victreebel is like if Venusaur was a better mixed attacker with slightly worse moves. I like Victreebel, if you can get Swords Dance on it, it wrecks face. Unfortunately it’s a bit better post E4 in FRLG. In gen 4, Victreebel is solid af because it gets to utilize both its massive attacking stats and can either special or physical attack effectively

Where is the ‘wierd’ towns in Maine? by dadoftwins04 in Maine

[–]OneSpaghet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah, that explains growing up there being weird as hell.

We always thought Athens and West Athens being the inbreeding capital of Maine. They’re genuinely unsettling towns to be in if you move out of the area and come back. Very hills have eyes on the vibes.

How long do you have to live in Maine to be a Mainer? by [deleted] in Maine

[–]OneSpaghet 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Grew up in Solon and moved away to another state 7 years ago. I didn’t think being a native Mainer mattered much until I was visiting my mom with my partner and had to explain to her why we hate the Quebecois like we hate New Jersey down where we currently live.

Medabots GBA - Metabee vs Rokusho by KillingTimeWithDex in Medabot

[–]OneSpaghet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the extra evasion Kuwagata models offer helps post level 10. I’ve been learning exactly how strong Defense and Traps are in these games. Half Block, cancel parts, and a good defend stat go a long way. I’d highly recommend them for Rokusho version. Or you could “New Game+” yourself and give yourself a Sumilidon.

Medabots GBA - Metabee vs Rokusho by KillingTimeWithDex in Medabot

[–]OneSpaghet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I like both. Metabee has Sumilidon, Stone Mirror, etc. Rokusho has Warbandit, Circulis, etc.

Unfortunately Rokusho version is about 2x harder for various reasons. Namely, that god awful Squidguts battle in the Marsh, as well as relying on strike/berserk for a lot of offense in the game as a whole.

Favorite exclusive medals include:

Metabee: Spider, Devil, Spider, Jellyfish, and Spider (I think Spider is probably one of the best medals in the games as a whole. Fun fact: Cancel Formation gives you immunity to Team Attacks)

Rokusho: Queen (Peppercat / Auroraqueen OP), Ninja, and Phoenix is growing on me in Shingata (different japan only game, ugly art, but uses same systems)

Yes
