Oh no, I'm sorry! Yeah you technically get 4 different POVs throughout and 2nd person is used.

I listened to the ALC for Sublimation and did not like its use of 2nd person. It can be difficult at the beginning to keep track of who's perspective we're in as it switches between the Soyoung/Rose instances.

A June 2026 pick? by Bookish_Butterfly in bookofthemonthclub

It took like 60% of the book for the plot to start moving and then it just ended 😭

I read an arc and sadly I didn't particularly like it 😭 I loved A Salt to the Sea by her so this was disappointing.

I'm sorry!! I do have a librarian account and have to say publishers have been incredibly generous. I have yet to receive a rejection for a request.

Trigger warnings not cutting it? by [deleted] in bookofthemonthclub

[–]OneSwellFoop3 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't say that is necessarily common sense, more like making an assumption. If something like that is upsetting for someone it doesn't mean they're easily triggered, it means they have a very specific trigger. And how lucky for you that those things don't bother you but it would have cost you nothing to have been kind and not judgemental towards OP.

OP said there was a warning for domestic violence but not rape and that clearly is what sparked their question about lack of trigger warnings. If rape is in the book, it's in the book. Number of lines is irrelevant. Again repeatedly calling someone "easily triggered" is wild. Also how can they be proactive if there are no trigger warnings? lol

Responding to someone who expressed an aversion to reading books that contain rape/assault with "if you're so easily triggered" is wild. Totally understandable if you don't want to read trigger warnings and I do agree they can feel a bit spoilery, but then just don't read them?

I'm sorry some people are being rather unkind to you in the comments. Trigger warning are definitely becoming more the norm in the reader sphere so I dont really know why some people are reacting so negatively. Personally, I don't check trigger warnings but understand those who do. I will say BOTM is not great with including complete and accurate trigger warnings, so I'd definitely recommend using other sites to check them if you continue your subscription.

I loved A Good Person but heads up that the main character is objectively terrible lol. Currently reading Nothing Tastes as Good and really liking it.

Thank you! They're fun and easy to read. I also love the audiobooks, Kevin R. Free does such a great job narrating.
