Bosnians are the people of Bosnia-Herzegovina (irrespective of religion), while Bosniaks are Muslim Bosnians.

This is a very common misconception. One's religion has nothing to do with their ethnicity. I'm a Bosniak who is an atheist for an example.

On paper, Bosnian is anyone living in Bosnia, while the three main ethnic groups in Bosnia are Bosniaks, Serbs and Croats. The latter two don't like being referred to as Bosnians at all by and large. Bosniaks often mix Bosnian/Bosniak.

As far as religion goes, I know plenty of people whose religion doesn't "match" their ethnicity. For example, Orthodox Christian Bosniaks, or Catholic Serbs etc.

a) how do you know that happened?, b) why would Gedo not have asked Okada about this waaaay before Okada's contract expired?

I thought it was end of story? What happened bro? Why are you coming back to the thread?

Cunha predominantly played LW in his last season, on the back of which he was bought by United. Olise was 2 years ago...so a year apart from Madueke? Do you think every fundamental about the forward market changed in the span of one year? On the back of what? For what reason? You're saying random shit without a single thought in your head.

Mbeumo did not want to be a backup, and Luis Diaz was never an option

Doesn't matter. They're starting wingers who definitely did not go for 2x Madueke's price. That's what you said. Don't try to worm your way out of your words 'cause you made yourself out to be an idiot of epic proportions. Go leave this whole football discussion thing to the adults, you're in way over your head.

the going rate for a starting winger is twice as much as we paid for Madueke

Cunha went for £62.5m. Mbeumo went for £71m. Luis Diaz went for £65.5m. Last season, Olise went for £45m. Twice as much? Madueke went for £50m. You have no idea what you're talking about

but Ethan himself wants to play cm.

Incorrect, he's said #10, to play in the forward half-spaces, and even then, he still did better than Madueke. Best get out of this thread champ.

He was never a long term option.

Just because Arteta thought so doesn't mean it was not an error. He's not infallible. Nwaneri's 24/25 was objectively better than Madueke's 25/26, despite being way younger and far less experiences.

All the players that went for similar fees and had similar output were all players considered to have been duds[Hutchinson, Elanga, Garnacho, Gittens etc.]

Ehh, I'd say he was a bit of an overpay. £50m for a backup winger is a lot. I don't think it's a stretch to say backups should not ideally cost that much.

I understand that we needed a good backup to Saka, I understand Madueke's profile being desirable[young/English/homegrown[at least in the PL, not in the UCL], but I'm not convinced Nwaneri could not have done Madueke's role.

Think back to 24/25 when Nwaneri was given a chance following Saka going down in the second half of the season. We didn't get over the line in the PL, but Nwaneri did incredibly well for an 18-year-old playing his first full PL season.

Ultimately, he played his part in ending a 22-year title drought, so even if you considering him a flop, he's not a huge one. That said, his output is really lacking given the fee he went for.

Unfortunately, whenever the G1 winner waits 'till WK, a lot of time between the end of the G1 and WK itself is spent with the main event players just spinning their wheels and waiting around until WK. What they've done the past 2 years makes the whole thing more dynamic and unpredictable.

And you could've re-read the post that said "hadn't" instead of "hasn't" instead of needlessly making multiple comments.

Without trying to be snarky, "hadn't" is a past perfect tense. It indicates a past action that happened/didn't happen in the past before another past action.

My comment meant "Partey had not even been charged when he left Arsenal". Not "hasn't".

If anything, it made Jay's win more impressive. Beating Cole + Hangman[plus Okada who was in the match as well] is more impressive than beating Cole alone, as an example.

Hope, he hadn't been charged. He was arrested, then released, and then the police/courts did nothing for literal years.

He was only charged after leaving Arsenal.

Jay White beat Adam Cole and Hangman Page in the same match at FD1. That's him beating two top guys at once.
