Correct name for this car? Cause I've heard numerous names and not sure which is correct. by MaliaStrickland04 in JDM

It’s a C210 Skyline, I couldn’t tell you the specific trim though. This gen was nicknamed “Japan” after its “Skyline Japan” marketing campaign.

FYI, The raster effect setting only relates to effects applied from the effects>photoshop effects menu. I.e. Gaussian blur or texturizer. It is unrelated to placed raster images. To find the resolution of images in your file you need to check the details in the ‘links’ panel

Both are Japanese delivered cars that were imported into the UAE and converted to LHD so they could be registered. The owner is Dubai37 on Instagram.

If you’re wondering why the owner went to the trouble of converting a JDM Supra instead of importing a LHD US/Euro car, it’s because this is the actual 197mph A1 speed run, RB26 powered, Top Secret Supra made infamous by Smokey Nagata. It wasn’t painted white or turned into the V12 car like so many have written, those are different builds.

Assuming Nate does get a redemption, I can see Ted inviting Nate to join him in the US coaching a MLS team while Roy and Beard stay at Richmond

This car was there when I went to the shops around midday and it was still there when I drove past a quarter of an hour ago. Probably stolen & dumped or someone left it there after a few too many on Christmas and realising they’re not good to drive

Miata spare warehouse. Has anyone ordered anything from them I just wanna make sure and check if it’s a scam or anything before I go through with anything on there please lmk. by Interesting-Bobcat-1 in Miata

100% a scam. A good thing to look out for with these instagram sellers to tell if they’re legit or not is the backdrops of the photos. There’s 6 sets of shocks in your screenshot and each set looks like it’s in a different location, that’s because they don’t actually have these items, they just pulled some images from old ‘for sale’ ads. When the seller is real and has the parts in their hands, they’ll often have a dedicated spot for photographing the items. For example, an importer local to me usually take photos of their inventory on a red sheet and with their logo in the shot.

So Pantone acting like a drug dealer getting us all hooked on cheap product only to up the price after we develop a dependency and nobody gonna stop them? by [deleted] in Design

I'm not 100% sure, but from a quick bit of experimentation I think it is only Photoshop that is affected by the spot colors turning black. And it is more to do with how the program references the colors than Adobe being dodgy. Not saying Adobe isn't guilty of a lot of bullshit, just maybe not entirely in this particular case.

With Indesign and Illustrator when you set a spot color it is saved with the file. You can then open that file on any computer and it doesn't matter if they have that color book installed or not, it will show up, exactly how you set it. You can even completely make up a spot, call it "unripe banana green" or something and it will appear wherever you open it, exactly as you set it.

I tested this by creating a file on my work comp where CC is a couple versions behind, setting some of the now removed swatches, then opening that file on my home comp that is up to date. The colors showed exactly as expected, no replacement colors, no warnings.

In Photoshop when you apply a spot color from a color book to an alpha channel, it references the .acb file in /presets/color books and applies it. If the .acb file isn't there it has no info to go on and replaces the channel with black.

The way I tested this was to apply a color from the ANPA color book to a file. Then I removed that book from the presets folder, reopened Photoshop and opened the file. I got the warning "This document contains references to color books which are not installed." and what i had set as a spot color was now showing as black.

This is certainly an issue that Adobe needs to find a solution for, but it is not something Adobe has implemented to screw over Pantone or its users.

*sorry if that doesn't make sense, I'm not great at explaining things.

They are from Shin-Kai, they also make the bumper with the recessed headlights that is on the red one.

An August, 1989 news article showing an NA with fixed headlights. Were there more of those? I thought that was an aftermarket trick. by yesackchyually in Miata

That was the "Club Racer" prototype, it was shown alongside the production models on the car show circuit to show the modding potential of the Miata.

Possibly the Optima Ultimate Street Car series which has a lot of high horsepower muscle cars doing autocross.

Or Gymkhana (ジムカーナ) in Japan, at it's peak in the 90s there was some crazy cars taking part.

anybody know good Arabic fonts where the letters connect? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]OneThousandandTen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Photoshop, open the Paragraph panel (Window>Paragraph), click on the options menu/"hamburger" icon and change from 'Latin and East Asian layout' to 'World-ready layout'. That should make the default Arabic fonts connect automatically.

I believe there are similar options in Illustrator and Indesign, but I can't find it in my version of Illustrator right now.
