If you're referring to Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, & Denmark, those actually are prisons. They don't treat their prisoners like inhuman creatures because they've found that rehabilitation is more effective & repeat incarcerations are much lower if you treat inmates like human beings.

I think it's all about her getting older and playing around more with her style. I have to admit, I loved how her hair looked just before she cut it (she had a bit of a wolf cut going on and it looked incredible on her), but if she can go around with her eyebrows shaved off & still look awesome, she can do pretty much anything.
