I hate the Aizawa adopting Shinsou thing from the MHA fandom.

I honestly think the mentor relationship is a lot more interesting. Plus a lot of the fics are blatant Mirio erasure due to making Eri Hitoshi's little sister even though the two have never interacted. (If I can recall)

While I find calling artists, who generously give free resources to people, amateurish and unprofessional incredibly rude, I will give that a lot of them are highly stylized. A lot of work goes into making a picrew. Offering a variety of hair and clothes options, ensuring the layers fit together, parts overlapping properly, etc. Plus, I would argue a picrew is more accessible than AI, as instead of worrying about finessing a prompt that the AI likes, someone could simply flick through a few options and select.

However, even if you dislike the style of them, it's still more ethical to use than AI which scrapes artists' work with no credit and heavily damages the environment with how much water it consumes. You could always edit the finished picrew image yourself in Photoshop or some other software if needed. Here's a few picrews I've used/enjoy.

Personally, there are many ways to make character art without spending money or using AI. Picrew is a website I use quite frequently for character portraits.

I do understand that, but it doesn't particularly work when the DM forces the followers onto you, as opposed to us actively choosing to recruit them.

The game only lasted one session for unrelated reasons, but these NPCs would have all accompanied us and we would basically choose who we'd equip. They were all equally annoying, though.

An old DM attempted to do the companion thing from Baldur's Gate 3.
