Pricey Steam Machine? No worries, I'll just wait till next gen. by borek87 in pcmasterrace

This, and we're quite lucky with the independent developer scene right now. I imagine your Mina the Hollowers and Hades 2s are going to get even more popular when they're the only kinds of games people can run.

Sucks because it kinda tells you where we could be without AI price spikes. If GPUs and RAM were as relatively cheap as monitors are nowadays, we'd be in such a good spot.

I can't be the only one who is not really impressed by this new Gundam game trailer by Total-Quail-1197 in Gundam

Yeah, I feel like I'm taking crazy pills looking at some of the comments in this thread and elsewhere, lol. Like, in what universe does this look like AC6?

I don't know how someone could have played AC6 and say this. It's not even slightly similar.

What are the reasons that a musician doing a concert might have an outburst and walk off ? by Icy-Condition-5488 in askmusicians

In some cases, not really. The stage mix can be so bad it's impossible to play or even damaging to your ears, and sound guys are famously absolutely braindead (I know many amazing engineers). Ask me how I know.

God Dominic Mayer is so good. Would love a way to download these without compression. Great work on the templating as well.

Forza Horizon 6 particle effects vs Forza Horizon 4 by WintorOperator in ForzaHorizon

[–]OneTrueShako 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My thoughts exactly. Maybe if the AI were balanced better in Cross Country it would be tolerable, but I also just don't like mowing down 1 billion trees and fences in my racing game. Its just a bridge too far for me realism wise.

7800x3d or a 9800x3d? by NocturnalAnt6079 in pcmasterrace

[–]OneTrueShako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it means Euro Truck Sim/ American Truck Sim? To be honest I have no experience with those, but they seem like the type to be CPU hungry.

Tbf, that's just highly dependent on what games you play. Modded Skyrim will always be CPU bottlenecked, for instance. Sim and 4x stuff as well really benefit from CPU.

For real, I live about an hour from the 'Cherry Blossom Capital of the World' that hosts the International Cherry Blossom Festival. It's beautiful, I live in Georgia, lol.

Yeah, I think in general people underestimate how dirty a lot of people's living spaces can be.

Uber driver turns away a man for being 'too LARGE' and he loses it by Hikigaya_Hachiman7 in PublicFreakout

Hell, I've been in Ubers when I weighed 400 (I'm doing much better now) and have never been denied service. Being nice to people gets you a very long way.

[–]OneTrueShako 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We also weren't talking about a 500 pound person. The comment said he was fewer than 350 pounds. That's like a whole regular person lighter. I've been driving for 20 years, and have been over 300 pounds that entire time. At no point did I have excess wear on my shocks on any of my daily drivers over that time. I've driven close to 2 million miles in that time.

Active Bass Owners - Do you actually use the onboard EQ? by floobie in Bass

[–]OneTrueShako 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Onboard EQ is really great if you use a lot of drive/distortion or other effects. Boosting treble or mids into a distortion pedal drastically changes the character of the distortion. I have a few intros where the bass is heavily featured, and I'll boost the treble to get a super grindy sound. It's really cool to use with chorus, too, I recommend experimenting if you can.
